AMX Expands Endeleo Distributed Media Line with Product for Smaller-Scale Installations

AMSTERDAM – Jan. 30, 2007 – AMX®, a worldwide leader in advanced control system technology, today announced that it has expanded its Endeleo Distributed Media product line with a Universal Distribution Matrix (UDM) solution for smaller-scale installations. The UDM-0102 Multi-Format Distribution Hub supports two high-resolution input ports and one UDM output port, making it an ideal solution for distributing audio/video (A/V) content to a classroom, conference room or other presentation room. The UDM-0102 will be demonstrated in AMX booth C30 at Integrated Systems Europe (ISE), being held Jan. 30 – Feb. 1 in Amsterdam.

“With our existing UDM-1604 Multi-Format Distribution Hub, AMX has proven that we can deliver a cost-effective solution to the market that solves even the largest A/V distribution needs,” said Robert Noble, AMX chief technology officer. “Now with the addition of the UDM-0102 to our product line up, AMX has a solution to meet the distribution needs of any installation – no matter how large or small.”

Advanced, yet cost-effective, the UDM-0102 delivers media over easily-installed, dedicated Cat5/5e/6, which decouples distribution of the media from the corporate backbone. With an Endeleo UDM, users can quickly switch and transmit any video source to any display device, power on/off display devices, and permission user control to select and play video sources and media servers on demand.

“Because our Endeleo products distribute A/V content over Cat5 or better networking cable, system integrators no longer need to run RGB, VGA, S-Video and Composite cable, which significantly reduces the total cost of the installation,” added Noble. “Many customers have saved hundreds of thousands of dollars in cabling and labor alone by using Endeleo.”

The UDM-0102 supports any combination of the following: two Red Green Blue Horizontal sync Vertical sync (RGBHV) sources, two component video sources, two S-Video sources or six composite video sources. Like the UDM-1604, the UDM-0102 can be easily integrated with AMX control and automation systems. Duet modules are available for download on AMX.com, which enable the devices in AMX‘s VisualArchitect software. The product also ships with an IR receiver port for additional control opportunities by other third party devices or via the Endeleo IR remote control.

The UDM-0102 will be available within 90 days.
