Axiom Audio Earns Top Honors at Interior Design Show

Axiom® Audio Exhibit Mints Silver Medal In Audi Design Awards At Interior Design Show 2007

Awards Sponsored by Top International Automaker Recognize Exceptional Exhibit Design; Axiom Display Featured Three-Room House Developed In Cooperation With Gluckstein Design

DWIGHT, ONTARIO — (March 20, 2007) — Axiom® Audio, a world leader in quality loudspeaker manufacturing, announced today that its exhibit at the Toronto Interior Design Show 2007 (IDS07) earned a Silver Award for Best Booth Design in the 400+ square foot category. Axiom‘s exhibit at the show, demonstrating new ideas for integrating audio systems with world-class interior design, featured a three-room mini-home constructed on site and showcasing the design talents of Gluckstein Design, one of Canada‘s leading interior design firms.

IDS07, held February 22-25, 2007 at the Direct Energy Centre Exhibition Place in Toronto, is Canada‘s premier platform for contemporary residential design. The show‘s design awards, sponsored by Audi, the German automaker, reward exceptional creativity, quality and overall good design.

Axiom Audio‘s IDS07 house included an entry/study, an entertainment/media lounge, an eat-in kitchen, and an “outdoor” terrace, all fully decorated. Each area of the Axiom Audio home included the latest Axiom loudspeaker and amplifier products, placed specifically to demonstrate the company‘s unique strength in blending exceptional audio with top-quality interior design. Among the several product prototypes showcased were Axiom‘s T100 and T22 in-wall speakers; EP400 Intelligent DSP subwoofer; M2 bookshelf speakers; MZero computer speakers with EPZero computer subwoofer; and exclusive “green” outdoor wireless speakers containing a 15-hour battery that can be recharged by solar power.

“Axiom Audio is especially pleased to receive this award because it validates one of our primary reasons for exhibiting at IDS–namely, that great audio and top quality interior design can co-exist,” said Ian Colquhoun, president and chief designer of Axiom Audio. “For some time, Axiom‘s product approach has been to emphasize beautiful cabinetry and innovative mounts that allow loudspeakers to ‘recede‘ into a room‘s design, thus enabling the visual experience to come forward. Visitors to IDS07 saw this philosophy in action–and clearly, so did the Audi Design Award judges.”

The IDS07 Audi Design Awards were judged by Karen von Hahn, a journalist with the Toronto Globe and Mail; Rick Webster, a leading visual merchandiser; and Mark Challen, vice president of communications for House and Home Media. Criteria for the Booth Design Awards included materials selection, use of color, use of lighting, product presentation, and exhibitor branding.
