Verrex Announces 60th Anniversary Plans
MOUNTAINSIDE, New Jersey (March 20, 2007) - Commemorating the company‘s rich history, leading audio visual, videoconference and sound systems integrator, Verrex Corporation, today announced plans to mark its 60th Anniversary with special programs and events throughout 2007.
“Few companies are as closely identified with the history of AV than Verrex,” said President, Thomas Berry, Jr. “Over the past six decades our company has experienced first hand the enormous changes and growth in the industry; from early sound systems to HD videoconferencing, Verrex has been there. This 60-year milestone offers us a rare opportunity to share this history with our valued clients and our employees and it challenges us to look ahead to the future and where our clients and the technology will take us.”
Verrex 60th Anniversary programs and events throughout the year will focus on educating clients, providing manufacturers with a forum for new products and technology, recognizing employee achievements and highlighting accomplishments from the past six decades. The main celebration will take place in September with an open house at the company‘s headquarters in Mountainside, NJ that will include facility tour, project management seminar and a technology expo. The company plans a web site re-launch in early spring as a resource for information about these events and programs.
Founded in 1947 by the late Thomas G. Berry, Verrex has been family owned and managed for three generations. Originally housed in a garage in Florham Park, NJ, the then named Gregory Institute of Music supplied background music to local area businesses. The company continued to expand in the 1960s with two-way radio, school intercom and sound and CCTV systems. During the 1970s and 1980s the company focused predominantly on the integration of large venue sound systems. Beginning in the 1990s Verrex broadened its offerings to include audio visual and videoconferencing system installations and in early 2007 the company designed and integrated one of the industry‘s first HD videoconferencing systems.
Headquartered in New Jersey, Verrex also has regional offices in Boston, MA and Tampa, FL. For more information, please contact Verrex at 908-232-7000 or visit www.verrex.com.
