Yukyung Technologies brings HaiVision‘s high performance MPEG-4 / H.264 encoders to Korea

April 4, 2007 – HaiVision Systems Inc. (Montreal, Canada) and Yukyung Technologies (Anyang, Korea) today announce a distribution relationship establishing Yukyung as HaiVision‘s lead distributor for Korea. Yukyung, with strategic relationships throughout Korea‘s datacomm industry, will act as integrator and master distributor for the region.

HaiVision is the leading developer of high performance video codecs, specializing in high quality and low latency MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 AVC encoders and multi-stream encode/decode systems. HaiVision‘s products are widely integrated within telepresence suites, distance education virtual classrooms, medical applications, broadcast video backhaul, and IPTV systems. HaiVision has recently released products at three price performance levels taking advantage of the new MPEG-4 AVC / H.264 standard. This technology enables the transport of DVD quality video at less than 40% of the bandwidth traditionally required by MPEG-2 systems.

Yukyung has a long history as a lead supplier of best-of-breed optical and data networking equipment to the top telecom and data communication service provider clients in Korea. Yukyung serves its markets with solutions and applications that deploy leading products and technologies to complement its networking design and integration expertise for backbone, IP, Access and broadcast networks, as well as multimedia and Voice and Video-over-IP applications.

“HaiVision is at the forefront of this exciting technology that enables our customers to save on transmission costs of network video systems,” states Mr. Park, Yukyung‘s Vice President of Technology.

“Yukyung is a growing, technology rich company with excellent engineering talent”, adds Charles Dobson, HaiVision‘s Director of International Sales. “They have a strong vision and are acting quickly to seize new opportunities to deliver innovative systems to their markets.”
