Buzzy’s Recording Leads Los Angeles Post Community With Three Fairlight CC-1 Engines
SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA, April 10, 2007 — Demonstrating the growing worldwide recognition of Crystal Core (CC-1) as the industry‘s most versatile, powerful and accessible processing technology, legendary Buzzy‘s Recording in Los Angeles recently purchased three Fairlight DREAM II Satellite-AV systems. The investment covers the replacement of existing Fairlight MFX3+ products, which have served the facility faithfully over the last eight years.
Since its beginnings in 1976, Buzzy‘s Recording has earned a reputation as one of the world‘s top voiceover studios, with talent ranging from James Earl Jones to Orson Welles to Mel Blanc. “We pride ourselves on being dependable, and consistent,” said Andy Morris, Chief Engineer, Buzzy‘s Recording. “Given the prestigious clientele that we serve, there can‘t be any failures or lost sessions, and there certainly are no excuses.”
To that end, Buzzy‘s has relied on Fairlight to help ensure a zero failure rate over the last eight years while expanding the studio‘s capabilities. “Fairlight has helped us be one of the most well-established facilities in the industry,” Morris added. “By continuing an investment in Fairlight, we are securing our clients‘ investment in the talent.”
The DREAM II Satellite-AV system provides a compact and efficient work environment with seamless integration of today‘s essential post-production. The Satellite controller provides fast affirming tactile control over all recording and editing functions whilst an intuitive GUI provides access to the comprehensive mixing features, integrated video and plug-ins. At the heart of the system is a CC-1 media engine delivering guaranteed performance of all the available resources which sets a new industry benchmark for low latency processing.
“We have clients from around the world, many of whom are other recording studios,” Morris added. “They‘re working with various types of systems and various formats, which requires us to be flexible from client to client. Fairlight enables us to deliver solutions that are specific to each individual project, an approach that has been a cornerstone of our success over the past 31 years.”
As integral as flexibility has been to Buzzy‘s success, stability is an equally significant component. “The stability of a system enables us to facilitate the performances of the talent,” Morris said. “Technology is intended to simplify the process, to allow the artists and engineers to think and work in the moment. We make a point of keeping distractions to a minimum, in terms of the physical environment and the technology. Fairlight has developed products that are not only fast and versatile, they‘re also practical. ”
