Miami (April 9, 2007) — Medialon Manager V3 Lite and V3 Pro systems find themselves at the center of the universe in the new Le Hall des Globes at the BNF (French National Library) in Paris, which showcases the unique Coronelli‘s Globes. Medialon controls lighting, audio and video for the permanent exhibition, which displays 17th-century advances in science and mapmaking via a pair of globes which had been out of the public eye for almost all of the last century.

The globes, one terrestrial and one celestial, were crafted by Franciscan monk and Venetian geographer Vincenzo Coronelli between 1681 and 1683 for French King Louis XIV. The two monumental spheres, the largest ever built at the time, measure 12 meters in circumference and weigh 2.3 tons each. They feature splendid baroque paintings and represent the wealth of geographical and historical information Coronelli had at his disposal. more

In many video and audio applications, the connection between sources and displays can introduce a 50Hz or 60Hz ground loop resulting in unwanted noise in the form of video hum bars or audio hum or buzz. Kramer Electronics is pleased to announce the newest addition to its product line, the VP-8x8A computer graphics video matrix switcher with both balanced and unbalanced stereo audio capability for each input. The VP-8x8A is an updated version of the very popular Kramer VP-8×8 with the stereo audio capability added, and is being shown at NAB in booth #SL6105.

The Kramer VP-8x8A is a 350 MHz high bandwidth matrix switcher for computer graphics video signals with resolutions ranging from VGA through UXGA on 15-pin HD connectors with both balanced and unbalanced stereo audio. It is a true matrix switcher capable of routing any input to any or all outputs simultaneously. Each input and each output accept both a balanced stereo audio signal on terminal block connectors as well as an unbalanced stereo audio signal on a 3.5mm mini plug connector. The VP-727T is designed for use in live production and presentation environments which require remote operation of the VP-727 In-CTRL Seamless Switcher. The panel features a T-Bar for manual transitioning between video sources. The VP-727T console mimics the front panel design of the VP-727, and while it offers standard push-buttons for wipe and direction control as well as transition speed selection, a convenient T-Bar lever has been added for the manual execution of takes and transitions. The VP-727T employs dedicated single button controls for special effect selection, image freezing and blanking, PIP display, and choice of wipe direction. The buttons have removable caps for convenient labeling. A menu button on the console allows the user to conduct setup operations for the VP-727 Seamless Switcher via an on-screen menu on the Preview monitor. more
