Yamaha DSP5D and ADK LYVE TRACKER
YAMAHA DSP5D EXPANDS CAPABILITIES OF PM5D CONSOLE: ADK LYVE TRACKER ENABLES 192 RECORDED TRACKS
ANAHEIM, Calif.–The Yamaha DSP5D will make its InfoComm debut at the Yamaha Commercial Audio Systems, Inc. booth during this year‘s trade exhibition. A DSP-expander for the extremely successful PM5D digital sound reinforcement console, the Yamaha DSP5D is a stand-alone unit that expands the capabilities of the PM5D to 96 mono plus 16 stereo input channels, includes 2 additional card slots with more effects and dynamics processing, and can be used with a PC and Yamaha Studio Manager software.
If using ADK‘s new 4U rack-mounted LYVE Tracker, which is available in three models and based around a Steinberg Nuendo 3 or Cubase 4 audio engine, the PM5D can also provide a recording solution capable of up to 192 simultaneous tracks. The ADK LYVE Tracker recording system features Intel‘s new Core 2 Duo and RME MADI technologies and is equipped with removable hard drive bays and a DVD-RW for backup and archiving. It is also the perfect solution for houses of worship, studio or broadcast use.
When a PM5D is used in conjunction with the new DCU5D Ethernet Audio Cascade Unit and a DSP5D, the DSP5D can be set in a remote location and controlled from the PM5D up to 100 meters using a CAT5, doubling the mixing power of the console‘s input channels, effects processors and other console connectivity features. A second DSP5D unit can be added to provide further expansion of up to 144 mono plus 24 stereo input channels.
“The DSP5D is perfect for tour sound and installation applications where more DSP processing power, inputs, card slots, effects and dynamics processing are required,” states Dan Craik, product manager – hardware, Yamaha Commercial Audio Systems, Inc.
The rack mount unit is controlled via the master PM5D console so no surface controls are required. Multiple units can be placed onstage, in an orchestra pit, or anywhere distance requires Ethernet audio cabling connectivity. Units can be retrofit to existing customers PM5D consoles.
Unique to Yamaha, the new DCU5D can connect 32-bus cascade ports of a single or even two PM5D digital consoles to the DSP5D using Ethernet audio, and makes possible connection of up to 100 meters between multiple units. The DCU5D is configured from within the DSP5D and uses a single Ethernet cable. “PM5D customers using the DSP5D expander will want to use the DCU5D,” adds Craik.
Target delivery for both the Yamaha DSP5D and DCU5D is May, 2007 with suggested retail prices of $27,000 and $3,000 respectively. The ADK LYVE Tracker is currently available, and purchasing information is available at www.adkproaudio.com.
