BEYERDYNAMIC INTRODUCES SIR INFRARED SIMULTANEOUS INTERPRETATION SYSTEM AT INFOCOMM 2007

ANAHEIM, CA, MAY 21, 2007 beyerdynamic, a leading manufacturer of premium-grade microphones, headphones and wireless microphone systems, proudly introduces the SIR Infrared Simultaneous Interpretation System at InfoComm 2007, June 19-21, 2007 (booth #8433). A great companion to any conferencing or tourguide system in the beyerdynamic line, the SIR clearly and wirelessly transmits multiple channels of audio for interpretation and assisted listening purposes.

With a transmission output of 20 watts, the SIR Infrared Simultaneous Interpretation System is particularly suitable for use in large rooms. It is comprised of four integrated components; the SIR 800 Compact Transmitter, the SIR 801 Infrared Radiator, the SIR 320 Receiver and the SIR C 50 Charging and Transport Case. The SIR 800 Compact Transmitter converts audio signals into frequency modulated infrared light, which along with the SIR 801 Radiator, can transmit the original (OR) and a maximum of seven target languages on different carrier frequencies. These transmissions are received by the SIR 320 receiver and then can be monitored with headphones. The front panel of the SIR 800 allows for frequency band selection and the assignment of up to 32 transmission channels. LEDs indicate the operation mode: channel ON (red) and audio signal available (green) and the status of the appropriate interpreter channel.

At just 5.5 lbs, the SIR 801 Infrared Radiator is perfect for portable use. A maximum of 21 channels can be transmitted simultaneously in FM quality on different frequencies. Transmitter and high-power radiators are connected via coaxial cable with BNC plugs, which allows connection of a maximum of 20 radiators in a single daisy chain. The SIR 801 high-power radiator requires no cooling fan; heat exchange is secured by natural convective cooling, guaranteeing totally silent continuous operation. The radiator is also supplied with a swivel bracket for wall, stand or ceiling mounting.

The SIR 320 receiver is designed to receive a maximum of 32 channels, even under direct solar radiation, where excessive brightness typically makes reception impossible. The receiver is equipped with a 4-button control pad for volume and channel control. A back-lighted LC-Display also shows the system status or system adjustments, i.e. battery voltage, IR field intensity and shift operation mode. After removing the receiver out of the infrared field or disconnecting the headphone, the receiver automatically switches into standby mode.

The SIR C 50 Charging and Transport Case is designed for charging, storing and transportation of 50 SIR 320 receivers. Both the receivers and the compartments are numbered to allow easy checking of distribution and return. For easy transport and storage, the charger is integrated in a robust case with a detachable lid and sturdy foldaway handle. For added security, the case is designed to be secured by a padlock.
