Furman to Offer AC Power Training Seminar at CEDIA Expo 2007 in London
PETALUMA, Calif. — June 6, 2007 – Furman Sound/Panamax, a world-leading provider of power management solutions, today announced that Garth Powell will conduct a training session at CEDIA Expo 2007 in ExCeL London. The hour-long session, entitled “AC Power — The Foundation of Every Premium Home Theater System,” will be held on Thursday, June 28, at 10 a.m. in the South Gallery Rooms. In his presentation, Powell will discuss the problems with AC power and a number of technologies that address these issues.
Today’s installers face unprecedented challenges when it comes to AC power and its effect on home theater systems. With ground loops, hum bars, and damage from surges, comprehensive power management control and conditioning is no longer an option for the performance and protection of home theater components — it’s a necessity.
During the session, Powell will discuss power regulation and the various means to create it, and he’ll provide an explanation of AC conditioning and balanced power. The seminar will cover the dos and don’ts of uninterruptible power supplies, as well as how the right power conditioning technology can greatly improve the performance of amplifiers and other equipment.
A Furman engineer for more than seven years, Powell is the designer of Furman’s Reference line of home theater AC power products. He has been a recipient of Mix magazine’s TEC Award, as well as Absolute Sound’s Golden Ear Award.
