HDcodex DML-1000 Manages Large Media Libraries with Ease

CHAMPAIGN, IL – June 5, 2007 – CodexNovus, the leader in stand-alone and networked media player and server technologies, has introduced the HDcodex DML-1000 networked media player, delivering one terabyte of storage capacity. Designed to support large media content libraries, the DML-1000 enables storage of video, audio, and digital pictures, all accessible from an easy-to-use interface that anyone can use.

“With an operating system and a user interface that is both responsive and seamless, the HDcodex DML-1000 media player is designed to be the backbone of any home entertainment system,” said Hugo Feugen, president and CEO of CodexNovus. “Our unique media server technology balances powerful hardware with intuitive operation, a combination that creates the perfect tool for dealers and integrators who want to deliver cutting edge performance to their clients in an easy-to-use configuration. Any dealer who wants to elevate the quality and utility of their clients‘ entertainment system will be interested in seeing the capabilities of the DML-1000.”

The DML-1000 provides instantaneous random access to many different types of digital media files, a distinct advantage over other products that can take up to 30 seconds to locate and load content. The HDcodex DML-1000 is also designed to offer tremendous flexibility and configuration options to support a huge range of sources and systems.

The DML-1000 is the ultimate media entertainment manager for family rooms, home theater applications, commercial entertainment networks, or commercial business enterprises that require instant access to vast libraries of video, music, and pictures. HDcodex is designed to be field upgradeable, ensuring simple integration of the latest features as they become available.

Video content can be viewed in both SD and HD formats at resolutions up to a full 1920×1080 pixels in progressive scan mode. To complete the home theater experience the DML-1000 also delivers multi-channel 5.1 and 7.1 high resolution digital audio capabilities. The DML-1000 is not restricted to MPEG2 or MPEG1, as are existing DVD players today, and supports the latest video and audio compression technologies, maximizing image and sound quality while minimizing disk storage requirements.

The DML-1000 provides a very open-ended, flexible and expandable architecture. Users can work with existing add-on accessory devices like a DVD carousel, enabling the legal storage and playback of an entire DVD movie collection, including metadata (album, cover art, genre, etc). All of this while still being able to store all of their personal media on the HDcodex via powerful, yet easy-to-build playlists–1 Terabyte of memory with nearly unlimited expandability.

The HDcodex DML-1000 will be available in Q3 2007 at a retail price of $4,999.
