Electro-Voice loudspeakers are ensuring Rent One Park in Marion, Illinois–the recently-completed stadium home of the Southern Illinois Miners–sounds superb for its opening season.

Working in a design-build arrangement with the owner of Rent One Park, Acoustical Design Group, Inc. (Mission, KS) and Lowrance Sound Company, Inc. (Union City, TN), combined forces to determine the right audio products for the project, which had a very tight 60-day schedule.

Weatherproof Electro-Voice Sx300PIX, ZX1i and EVID 6.2T loudspeakers comprise the majority of the loudspeakers at Rent One Park: 14x Sx300PIX cover the main bowl; 25x ZX1i & 70x EVID 6.2T provide distributed sound throughout the concourses, VIP areas, walkways and some seating areas.

“Once we selected the right speakers to precisely cover each area in the facility, EV did a great job getting us the right products in a short time frame,” says Mark Lowrance. “The inaugural game sold out and the system sounded great. Optimal tuning of the system for both voice and music is handled through the use of parallel voice and music equalized audio paths. Every seat is covered with clear, highly intelligible audio–the similar sounding EV products made even, full range audio easy to attain over the entire seating area. Plus, besides sounding very good, these specific speaker enclosures also have a neat, low-profile look; this helps us hide the speakers so the stadium looks as good as it sounds.”
