Premier Mounts Introduces Ultra Low-Profile Universal

PDS Plus combines adaptability of dedicated mounts with versatility of universal mounts for superior performance and functionality

ANAHEIM, CALIF. (June 19, 2007) – A new ultra low-profile universal projector mount from Premier Mounts provides AV professionals with the benefits of both dedicated and universal mount designs — adaptability, ease of installation and integrated security. Scheduled to be unveiled at the InfoComm exhibition June 19-21 in Anaheim, Calif., the new PDS Plus universal projector mount greatly simplifies the process of specifying and installing projector mounts.

Designed to fit the industry‘s top selling projectors weighing up to 75 lbs., the universal projector mount is a direct response to requests for a very low-profile universal mount with dedicated mount features. Ideal for retail, corporate, hospitality and education applications, the latest addition to Premier Mounts‘ PDS Series of low-profile mounts holds projectors firmly in place and out of sight less than three inches from the ceiling.

“Since the introduction of our low-profile dedicated mount series last fall, we‘ve been inundated with requests for a universal version,” said Jim Hall, vice president of marketing at Premier Mounts. “Because of our in-house custom fabrication capabilities through Premier Dedicated Solutions, we were able to quickly design and produce a mount that has the form, functionality and flexibility AV professionals asked for.”

Adapted from Premier Mounts‘ low-profile PDS Series, the PDS Plus is designed to meet precise projector positioning and ease of installation. The mount has four-axis, tilt and rotational adjustments: 33 degree tilt range (+/- 16.5 degree) and 15 degree roll range (+/- 7.5 degree). Combined with a 360 degree yaw with one and a half inch NPT and a 41 degree pre-set yaw, the mount provides AV professionals with the flexibility to address most mounting situations.

Additionally, the inclusion of eight variable length mounting arms – four more than standard universal mounts – provide for even greater installation flexibility.

Unique design elements incorporated in the mount enable AV professionals to:

• Mount to mate with different combinations of Premier Mount adaptors and accessories, including the AST-2246 Extension Column for 24-to 36-inch ceiling extension.
• Route cables through the inside of the one and a half-inch-wide ceiling extension pipe for a finished look.

Featuring the Premier Mounts‘ Lock-It ™ Security System, the new mount locks the projector into place and protects all mount and adjustment points from being dislodged or tampered with by unauthorized personnel. Additionally, the mount adapts to PP-SEC50 Steel Chassis Lock, which locks the chassis mounting points.

Available for immediate shipping, new PDS Plus projector mount is priced to beat the competition at a low MSRP of $199.99.
