Studio Berar Fields JBL VerTec Line Array System For Serbia’s Exit Noise Summer Fest

NORTHRIDGE, CALIFORNIA, July 31, 2007 — Reinforcing JBL Professional VERTEC® line arrays as the most powerful and versatile in the industry, Studio Berar recently deployed a live sound reinforcement system for EXIT Noise Summer Fest, the largest music festival in southeastern Europe. The annual festival once again took place at a striking, historical castle fortress in Novi Sad, Serbia.

Each year, a youthful audience, drawn by an entertaining environment and some of the world’s most prominent artists, comes from different parts of the country and throughout Europe. Attendance has increased each year since 2001, with 35,000 attendees at the main stage this year. Regional audio company Studio Berar has supplied full production for the festival‘s main stage and DJ arena since its inception.

The EXIT festival‘s musical program mixes major international hard rock and hip-hop artists with dance music trend-setters. The artist lineup this year included The Prodigy, Beastie Boys, CSS, Lauryn Hill, Robert Plant & Strange Sensation, Basement Jaxx, Snoop Dogg, The Wu-Tang Clan, LTJ Bukem with MC Conrad, and more. Studio Berar served the international artists‘ roster with a JBL VERTEC line array system.

‘‘Even though we have worked on this festival for the past seven years, we perform detailed preparations each year in order to achieve the best possible sound quality,“ said Zoran Matic, system engineer for Studio Berar. “This festival has a great meaning for us here in Serbia, because in doing it, we get to exchange experiences and ideas with soundmixers and lighting designers from all around the world.“

Matic noted that his crew is now using the new Harman HiQnet™ System Architect software for sound system control and monitoring. “This year‘s EXIT festival once again proved that JBL VERTEC is the best choice for major concerts and massive festivals like this one,“ he advised.

Studio Berar audio technicians deployed two main hangs of 16 VT4889 fullsize line array elements with a total of 32 VT4880 fullsize arrayable subwoofers. JBL VT4888 midsize line array elements and VRX932‘s were in place for outfill arrays, delay tower support, and onstage sidefill monitors.

“Major outdoor summer music events like EXIT Noise Summer Fest are a hallmark of the European entertainment scene,“ noted David Scheirman, Vice President, Tour Sound for JBL Professional. “It is gratifying to see the deployment of well-designed sound reinforcement systems that meet promoters‘ needs and audience expectations. And, the growing worldwide rider acceptance of JBL VERTEC enables companies like Studio Berar to enjoy an excellent return on their loudspeaker investment.“
