Best U.S. Colleges Adopt AxisTV to Deliver Visual Communications
ATLANTA, GA, August 30, 2007 — Visix, Inc. welcomed the announcement of U.S. News and World Report‘s ranking of America‘s Best Colleges 2008, which showed that 30 percent of the nation‘s top schools are using Visix‘s AxisTV unified communications applications.
The list of notable colleges and universities includes Harvard, Northwestern, and Johns Hopkins as well as smaller schools like Bryant University and Spelman College in Georgia. U.S. News publishes its Best Colleges report each year based on data gathered from participating schools for up to 15 indicators of academic excellence. Rankings include top national universities, as well as subsets in liberal arts, engineering, business, masters and baccalaureate categories.
Of all schools ranked for excellence this year, 74 have deployed Visix technologies, which provide a sophisticated, campus-wide communication solution to deliver news, announcements, event schedules and emergency alerts to students, visitors, faculty and staff. The company‘s suite of browser-based software allows for timely distribution of static and video content to thousands of overlapping endpoints that range from large screen and flat panel displays, projectors, televisions, desktops, mobile phones and RSS enabled devices.
“We‘re honored to partner with so many excellent colleges and universities,” comments Trey Hicks, Vice President of Sales for Visix. “Higher education venues are really challenged today to communicate effectively across so many channels. We‘re focused on providing them with tools that are easy to use, yet powerful enough to reach every audience member when and where needed.”
