DENVER, CO, September 10, 2007 — Oculus Designs, a wholly owned subsidiary of The RapcoHorizon Company and a leading manufacturer and distributor of professional grade cables and home theater products, featured its Series 8 line of premium cables at CEDIA 2007. Providing exceptional quality signal transfer expected from a high-end cable for digital and analog A/V media delivery, Series 8 comes in a generous selection of cable types that are available in multiple lengths to fill any home theater installation need.

“The Series 8 line of cables is designed for the discerning enduser who desires the very best performance match for high-end home theater components,” says Drew Balsman, home theater design coordinator for Oculus Designs. “Series 8 accomplishes its home theater mission by offering a wide variety of cable types that encompass traditional component interconnects such as S-Video and audio RCA to RCA stereo pairs, as well as addressing the needs of interfacing digital transfer protocols such as Firewire and USB.”

Created for integrating various components of a modern home theater system with the very highest quality cable, Series 8 features a complete line of standard analog audio and video interconnects, as well as cutting edge digital interconnects from computer-based components and HD screens. Series 8 Composite, Component, S-video, Digital Coaxial, F and HDMI cables are made with silver-plated solid copper conductors with wire weights optimized for specific format needs. This group meets RG6 specifications and offers true 75 Ohm cable construction where applicable. The quality build of this Series 8 group offers double shielding for the best noise isolation (HDMI cables offer three separate shields). The group includes high quality abrasion resistant PVC jackets, precision molded and machined 24K gold plated connectors and low loss Nitrogen-Injected foamed polyethylene dielectric construction.

The Series 8 Audio RCA-RCA, and Subwoofer cables offer 99.99% purity oxygen free copper conductors in solid conductor, stranded and twisted pair versions with wire weights optimized for specific format needs. Each cable in this group offers double shielding for best noise isolation (Firewire employs three shields), high quality abrasion resistant PVC jackets, precision molded and machined 24K gold plated connectors and low loss Nitrogen-Injected foamed polyethylene dielectric construction. The Series 8 Optical cable (Toslink) consists of precision grade POF construction for low loss and low distortion performance, fluorinated polymer clad optical fiber, optical fiber loss rated at 0.17db/meter, precision machined/molded connectors and the same abrasion resistant PVC jacket.

All Series 8 cables come in one, two, three and five meter lengths with HDMI A/V to HDMI A/V additionally offering seven, 10, 12 and 15-meter lengths. The Subwoofer RCA-RCA is available in three, five, seven and 10-meter lengths. All Oculus cables are RoHS, and California Proposition 65 compliant.
