LACHAPELL AUDIO INTRODUCES 583s AT AES 2007

LaChapell Audio's 583sMERCED, CA, SEPTEMBER 12, 2007 – LaChapell Audio, a leading manufacturer of preamplifiers for commercial recording and broadcast markets, introduces the first vacuum tube preamp in the 500 series format, Model 583s, at AES 2007 (Booth 846).

The 583s‘ input stage is based on LaChapell‘s popular 992EG platform in single-ended form coupled with high quality Burr-Brown and THAT Corporation output drivers. With this configuration the 583s will be able to deliver >70dB of gain with a typical non-weighted EIN of -120dB referencing 150ohm load. Equipped with (1) 12AX7/ECC83 tube and a frequency response of 12 Hz to 70 kHz, the 583s utilizes the Cinemag CMMI-10 or the optional Jensen JT-115k input transformer and features a max output of >26dBu.

Designed to bring high-end tube audio to the ‘lunch-box’ arena, LaChapell‘s 583s offers users the ability to utilize classic, vintage vacuum tubes. The 583s is currently shipping and is available for $1,249 retail.

“At LaChapell Audio, we are continually looking at ways to bring something unique to market, especially something that will appeal to studio owners seeking exceptional sound while keeping costs down,” said Scott LaChapell, president of LaChapell Audio. “We noticed that while many companies were introducing new stand-alone preamps, a vacancy existed in the marketplace for vacuum preamps within the 500 series format. Our 583s fills this void.”
