Produc’son Brings “Georgian Legend” Theatrical Troupe To Paris With JBL VerTev Line Arrays

LONDON, ENGLAND, 9 September 2007 — Demonstrating the ability of JBL Professional VERTEC® line arrays to provide rich, even coverage in the most challenging of spaces, the Casino de Paris in France recently hosted “Georgian Legend–Legends of the Storm,” a world-renowned ballet production currently on tour throughout Europe. French audio rental company Produc‘son provided the live sound reinforcement for all performances of “Georgian Legend” in France.

Celebrating the culture of Georgia, “Legends of the Storm” features traditional music native to the eastern European country, with a modern take. Drums, flutes and accordions highlight the dynamic musical performances, which are complemented by choreographed acrobatics featuring dancers in native Georgian costume. The result is a visually and sonically stunning theatrical production, rich in history and culture.

The Casino de Paris is a challenging performance venue, and care must be taken in loudspeaker system choice and placement to achieve coherent coverage throughout the space. For the show in this venue, Produc‘son arranged 10 VERTEC VT4888 mid-size line array elements and four VERTEC VT4880 arrayable subwoofers (two in a main floor position and two in a balcony position). The system was powered by Crown IT6000 and IT4000 amplifiers (for the VT4888‘s) and Crown IT8000 amplifiers drove the subwoofers. Additionally, four JBL VRX932LA portable line array enclosures provided fill coverage for the first 10 meters in front of the stage.

“Thanks to the VERTEC line arrays, it was quite easy to achieve the full coverage we needed, despite the acoustical challenges of the space,” said Jean Charles Schmid, Sound Engineer, Produc‘son. “The VERTEC system performed well, was reliable and extremely easy to use.”

“The versatility and audio fidelity of VERTEC can provide ideal solutions for a wide variety of theatrical and entertainment events in demanding venues such as the Casino de Paris,” said David Scheirman, Vice President of Tour Sound, JBL Professional. “This application of VERTEC by Produc‘son represents a synergy of leading-edge technology and top-level technical expertise.”
