LACHAPELL NOW AVAILABLE THROUGH ATLAS PRO AUDIO

NEW YORK, NY, SEPTEMBER 25, 2007 – LaChapell Audio (Booth 846), a leading manufacturer of preamplifiers for commercial recording and broadcast markets, recently added Atlas Pro Audio, Inc. to its line of dealers.

Models now available through Atlas Pro Audio at www.atlasproaudio.com include LaChapell‘s newest 583s Model preamp, as well as its 992 line of dual mono, fully balanced vacuum tube preamplifiers — TLS, EG, and EG Premium models. Atlas Pro Audio offers over 85 lines of the best high-end pro audio gear on the market today.

The LaChapell Model 583s is the first vacuum tube preamp in the 500 series format. The 583s‘ input stage is based on LaChapell‘s popular 992EG platform in single-ended form coupled with high quality Burr-Brown and THAT Corporation output drivers. With this configuration the 583s will be able to deliver >70dB of gain with a typical non-weighted EIN of -120dB referencing 150ohm load. Equipped with (1) 12AX7/ECC83 tube and a frequency response of 12 Hz to 70 kHz, the 583s utilizes the Cinemag CMMI-10 or the optional Jensen JT-115k input transformer and features a max output of >26dBu.

LaChapell Model 992 TLS is a transformer-less input design utilizing twin (matched) 400v ASC caps along with two USA made 6072‘s per channel. This configuration provides >50dB of gain (usually about 52db) with a typical non-weighted EIN of -114 to -116dB. LaChapell Model 992 EG (Extended Gain) differs from the ‘TLS‘ in input topology only. By utilizing the Jensen JT-115k input transformer and two ECC803/12AX7 vacuum tubes per channel, this configuration is able to provides >74dB of gain (usually about 76dB …) with a typical non-weighted EIN of -125dB referencing 150ohm. All other design elements are the same.

Nathan Eldred started Atlas Pro Audio approximately seven years after opening his first recording studio, in 1994. Since the formation of Atlas Recording Studios & Atlas Pro Audio, the company now has two studios in addition to the pro audio and consultation side of the business.
