PANASONIC ANNOUNCES 103-INCH PLASMA INSTALLATIONS

SECAUCUS, NJ (October 2, 2007) – Panasonic, the market and technology leader in Plasma HDTVs, has announced two prestigious installations of its flagship 103-inch Plasma display — Pechanga Resort and Casino in Temecula, California, and the Hyatt Chicago. Panasonic‘s 103-inch plasma features a stunning widescreen progressive display with full HD pixel resolution of 1,920 horizontal x 1,080 vertical and a contrast ratio of 5,000:1. With an effective display area of approximately 89-inches wide by 50-inches high, one display is equivalent in size to four 50-inch Panasonic plasma displays.

Southern California‘s Pechanga Resort and Casino purchased five Panasonic 103-inch Plasma displays–the world‘s largest Plasma display on the market–to provide its guests and poker players with the latest in large format high definition viewing.

Hanging ten feet above ground in Pechanga‘s 18,000-sq. ft. poker room, Panasonic‘s 103-inch Plasmas provide sharp image quality and motion control, ensuring that Pechanga maintains its state-of-the-art edge in the competitive casino industry. This purchase signals a trend where bigger may not only be better, but cost effective, too.

“Our goal is to support our customer‘s efforts in creating environments that integrate bigger displays on which people can experience the High Definition lifestyle,” said Andrew Nelkin, president of Panasonic Professional Display Company. “Pechanga Casino‘s purchase of five Panasonic 103-inch Plasmas – the world‘s largest – supports that premise. And our ability to provide superior customer service and support to customers like Pechanga, including our exclusive Panasonic Concierge Service, reinforces our objective to be the leading supplier of high quality Plasmas for commercial applications.”

According to Rod Luck, vice president of information technology at the casino, “Pechanga has always been in the forefront of technology and innovation. With the purchase of the 103-inch displays from Panasonic, Pechanga maintains its AAA 4 Diamond image with these new state of the art displays. Since Pechanga has one of the biggest Poker rooms in Southern California, the Panasonic Displays provide our customers with entertainment value unequaled anywhere in the industry. With the support of Panasonic‘s support team and Pechanga‘s IT and facilities departments, the Plasma displays were easily installed and operational. This purchase has been very cost effective and we will be looking at more innovations like this in the future.”

In addition to the Pechanga installation, Hyatt Regency Chicago, the biggest Hyatt hotel in the world, and the biggest hotel in Chicago, has installed two Panasonic 103-inch plasmas in the lobby/atrium area.

The 103-inch plasma displays are suspended side-by-side 30 feet above ground. Patrons at the hotel‘s BIG Bar can now enjoy sporting events, music videos and promotional materials from BIG Bar‘s mezzanine-level space.

“The installation of two 103-inch Panasonic plasmas at the Hyatt Chicago reinforces the fact that our customers are asking for bigger displays so their patrons can experience high definition in a way that enhances the overall experience at their place of business,” said Nelkin. “We‘re excited to be part of this unique and prestigious installation.”

According to Tom Feilen, director of engineering at Hyatt Regency Chicago, “We‘ve had an on-going relationship with Panasonic and we‘re very pleased with their products and service. It didn‘t take much convincing to buy the 103-inch once we determined the installation could be done with not only one, but two plasma displays. We are very happy.”

The 103-inch plasma’s onboard multi-function slots allow for combinations of optional plug-in boards to be added for versatility in a variety of installation environments. Additionally, the plasma features built-in functions such as image-enlarging and advanced dual picture mode for powerful multi-feed systems.
