Tecom Launches the TechPod All-in-One Multimedia Lectern at GVExpo 2007

TechPod InteractiveGovernment facilities and Israel Defense Forces Already Benefit from TechPod Technology

Ramat Gan, Israel, 17 September 2007 - Tecom is pleased to announce the launch of the TechPod Multimedia Lectern at the Annual Government Video & Technology Expo 2007 (GVExpo 2007). The TechPod provides trainers with an easy-to-use lectern featuring complete Audio Visual control in one unit, using a single, button-based control panel. GVExpo will be held November 14-16 at the Washington, DC Convention Center, and Tecom will be in booth #1141.

“We recognized the increasing use of multimedia presentations in training sessions and worked with trainers and presenters to create the solution to best fit their needs,” says Tecom’s CEO, Aviv Brosilovski. “With their help, we developed the TechPod, allowing trainers to focus on developing media rich seminars, knowing that the AV equipment will facilitate the presentation rather than be a technical barrier.”

The proven TechPod solution already has 1 million hours of use in training facilities all over the world. It integrates all audio-visual equipment required during training into a single, easy-to-operate compact console with a user-friendly interface, allowing the trainer to have complete control over all devices. Trainers and presenters actively use TechPod at government facilities, hospitals, and naval and army facilities, among others.

The Israel Defense Forces needed an AV solution for training and debriefing that was both easy to use and required minimal service. “We had to find an advanced system that would fit our unique requirements, and TechPod fulfilled that role,” says an IDF facilities manager. “Our trainers can deliver their material clearly and systematically, while upkeep time has been virtually eliminated.”

Each TechPod comes with its own computer with a DVD player and a document camera, VCR, public address audio system, an interactive screen, and lighting and projection screen controls. All controls are on the front of the unit, eliminating the need for complicated menus. Also, the trainer can write directly onto the presentation using the TechPod interactive screen and save those notes for session attendees.

TechPod also comes in a mobile version, the TechPod Xpress. The TechPod Xpress has all of the same features as the standard TechPod, but it includes its own LCD projector, as well as rolling cables for easy connection.

“TechPod offers a standard solution across facilities,” says Mr. Brosilovski from Tecom. “With the TechPod, trainers don‘t have to learn the technology of ‘each room‘; they can just begin their lecture. We look forward to showing our visitors at GVExpo how the TechPod resolves their AV problems with the simplest, most straightforward system ever developed.”
