Love InBUENA PARK, Calif.– Celebrating 40 years since the “Summer of Love,” Adams Entertainment and Lyric Opera San Diego presented the world premiere of “Love In: A Musical Celebration of 1967” in early September at the Birch North Park Theater in San Diego. Created by the producers of “Primal Twang,” which debuted to sold-out audiences at the Birch North Park Theatre in September 2006, “Love In” is a theatrical celebration of the music of 1967 featuring legendary guest artists and a spectacular psychedelic light show. As with “Primal Twang,” Adams Entertainment filmed the performances of “Love In” for commercial release.

Yamaha Commercial Audio Systems, Inc. provided the majority of the audio equipment for the 5.1 house system that consisted of a Yamaha DM2000 for front of house mixing, 20 NEXO GEO S805s, four GEO S830s, three GEO S1210s, one GEO S1230, and two PS8s speakers. Amps included eight Yamaha PC9501n‘s, one PC6501n, and the new Yamaha T4n. Monitors were controlled by two Yamaha PM5D digital consoles, four NEXO PS10s speakers and four Yamaha PC9501n amps. The show was recorded using a second Yamaha DM2000, two of the new ADK LYVE Tracker recorders, and two Yamaha HS80M studio monitors.

Yamaha's Lloyd Kinkade at "Love In" FOH “The Yamaha/NEXO system for Love In provided pristine 5.1 audio which perfectly conveyed the power and passion of classic ’60′s rock but with increased fidelity and nuance,” states Anthony Leigh Adams, Producer/Director, Love In. “It was a true flashback to the summer of love, but with better audio. Hats off to Yamaha and NEXO for helping us create musical magic for this exciting production.”

Tony Award-winning Broadway star, Ben Vereen, (Jesus Christ Superstar, Pippin, and Wicked) who sang and danced, was the show‘s host. Artists included singer/songwriter Jesse Colin Young, founder of the Youngbloods (“Get Together”); ‘60‘s British Invasion greats, Peter & Gordon, (“World Without Love”); Grammy-Award winning guitar virtuoso, Eric Johnson (“Cliffs of Dover”); vocalist/drummer for Jimi Hendrix and Electric Flag, Buddy Miles; (“Texas”) Vince Martell, original lead guitarist/singer from Vanilla Fudge (“You Keep Me Hanging On”); the legendary psychedelic band, Strawberry Alarm Clock; R&B master Earl Thomas (“I Sing the Blues”); and sitar virtuoso Kartik Seshadri, the foremost disciple of Ravi Shankar, accompanied by Arup Chattopadhyay, world-renowned tabla maestro.

The Love In Band included members of San Diego‘s classic rock group, Rockola; multi-instrumentalist Tripp Sprague; actor/musician Jon Walmsley (“Jason from “The Waltons” TV series); and Musical Director, Doug Robinson. The band performed songs of the era and backed up the guest artists. The program featured a number of musical genres including folk/rock, R&B, blues, British rock, the Beatles, medleys from Los Angeles and San Francisco and included a Monterey Pop Festival tribute.

Additional sponsors for the show included Taylor Guitars, Fender, Lectrosonics, Millennia, Audix, Aviom, Future Sonics and Wolfgang‘s Vault.
