TV Magic Hires Key Staff, Opens New York Metro Office

SAN DIEGO — Oct. 22, 2007 — Broadcast systems integrator TV Magic today announced that it has strengthened its New York City presence with the addition of two industry veterans, both of whom will work out of the new TV Magic offices in the New York City metro area. David Rosenberg will serve as vice president and general manager of the New York branch and will be responsible for developing TV Magic‘s systems integration sales and services, and Andrea Cummis will serve as vice president of engineering.

“Both David and Andy bring valuable leadership, knowledge, and experience to our rapidly growing operations in the New York area,” said Stephen D. Rosen, president of TV Magic. “As a result, we‘re poised to take advantage of the region‘s rising demand for our systems integration services and to provide ongoing support in line with TV Magic‘s overall service and business strategies. Our achievements to date have been built on the skill and engineering acumen of our people, and David and Andy have a great deal to contribute to our continued success. We‘re very pleased to welcome them to the company.”

Prior to joining TV Magic, Rosenberg served as vice president of product development for a leading MAM software vendor and held senior positions at AT&T Bell Labs and Lucent Technologies, where he developed global media asset management strategies and systems. Additionally, Rosenberg developed IT-based broadcast systems integration platforms while at Sun Microsystems and earlier led analysis and broadcast application design teams for the BBC‘s technology unit (BBCT). He also played a key role in building and managing BBCT‘s Americas strategic consulting practice. He is a member of the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE) and has published articles in the broadcast business and engineering press.

Cummis brings to TV Magic a 20-year record of achievement at senior levels of broadcast engineering, operations, and technology. Cummis was a manager of systems implementation for the 1992 Summer Olympics and the systems design engineer for NBC News for the 1988 Summer Olympics. She is a national board member of the Society of Broadcast Engineers (SBE) and holds a bachelor of science in electrical engineering from Carnegie Mellon, a master‘s in business administration from Pepperdine, and an executive juris doctorate (EJD) in law and technology from Concord Law School.
