SECURITY COURSES KEEP NSCA MEMBERS ON TOP OF THEIR GAME

e-Learning classes provide credits transferable to NSCA University

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA, September 25, 2007 — Security is big business in the United States. According to the 2007 Security Distributing and Marketing Magazine Industry Forecast Study, U.S. security revenue was $29.5 billion in 2006 and projected to grow to $32.3 billion this year. Further, systems integrators ranked the life safety market as their third highest source of revenue, according to NSCA‘s 2007 Q1 Market Intelligence Briefing™ report.

To help sustain this growth, the security market needs skilled workers. Whether you‘re new to the field or simply need to hone your skills, NSCA, along with partner STAM Multimedia Inc., provides Web-based security training that‘s available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

“We need well-trained employees in our industry to serve the growing security field,” said NSCA Executive Director Chuck Wilson. “Very few companies offer training in this area. We are honored to partner with STAM to provide this much-needed curriculum.”

NSCA Board Member Dean Reece, CEO for RFI Communications and Security Systems, agreed. He said STAM security courses were another tool to help broaden NSCA‘s educational outreach. “They take a very hot segment of the industry and provide training to NSCA members,” Reece said.

There are numerous advantages to e-Learning: You can learn anytime you want, anywhere you want, and download interactive learning tools. Another plus? You can complete most of the courses in 30-90 days.

STAM offers five different topics for study: CCTV – A Complete Review, Digital Video and Networking, Fiber Optic Technology, Biometric Technology, and a new course on Basic Electricity. In 2008, STAM plans to add a course on Wireless Technology.

Each of the five courses provides transferable Learning Units for NSCA University‘s College of Technical Knowledge Certificate of Completion Program (CCP) or credit toward renewal of the EST program.
