For Listener Giveaway, Leon Provides One-of-a-Kind Pair of Custom-Built Acoustic Café Speakers
ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Nov. 8, 2007 — Leon Speakers Inc., a manufacturer of custom-built, on-wall loudspeakers for flat-panel displays, today announced its partnership with Acoustic Café, a nationally syndicated radio program featuring acoustic music and live interviews with songwriters around the world. As the official sponsor of Acoustic Café‘s online media player, Leon has been giving away Timbre 114 exotic hardwood bookshelf speakers each month since July. The media player promotion will culminate in a grand prize giveaway in December 2007.
Acoustic Café has served as an international showcase for new and classic acoustic music on the radio since 1994. Each week, the station airs two hours of music, plus live in-studio interviews and performances from artists such as Norah Jones, Ani DiFranco, John Mayer, Emmylou Harris, and more. At Acoustic Café Online (www.acafe.com), listeners can play the entire show through the “Leon Speakers Media Player,” which provides on-demand access each week.
Each month, Acoustic Café has been awarding a pair of Leon‘s Timbre 114 bookshelf speakers — valued at $1,500 — to one lucky listener. Each speaker is handmade using kiln-dried “flamed” maple, the same wood used to craft world-class acoustic stringed instruments. This custom speaker is designed to authentically reproduce the high-fidelity live recordings featured on the show.
The monthly giveaway will run through November 2007. In December 2007 Acoustic Café will give away the grand prize: a pair of one-of-a-kind, reference-grade, solid hardwood speakers designed especially for Acoustic Café by Leon and valued at $4,500.
“We are excited to support Acoustic Café. Our shared goal of bringing the best in music to a worldwide audience made for an effortless partnership, and our location in Ann Arbor literally puts us next door to the Acoustic Café studios. We have met some great people there and have been able to play our part in supporting local businesses with national reach,” said Noah Kaplan, president of Leon Speakers. “Designing the custom speakers for the December giveaway is the culmination of what we set out to do — provide a truly unique high-end, reference-grade speaker to an avid fan.”
Acoustic Café listeners can register to win the custom speakers by joining Acoustic Café‘s weekly e-mail list on its Web site. Registrations are being accepted through Dec. 15, 2007.
