NEW NILES INGENIOUS IR® INFRARED EXTENDER SYSTEMS NOW SHIPPING

Interference-resistant technology eliminates system design compromises while enhancing range and angle of operation

MIAMI, FLORIDA – November 6, 2007 - Niles Audio Corporation, The First Name in Custom Installation®, today announced that the redesigned line of Ingenious IR® Infrared Extender Systems along with three new IR Anywhere® Kits are now shipping to dealers nationwide. The redesign substantially reduces interference from all flat panel televisions, including LCD and plasma types, while simultaneously extending the range of operation and off-axis pick-up response. The new technology delivers reliable infrared reception and control in a broader range of environments including near plasma and LCD televisions, under fluorescent lights and in areas of indirect sunlight. The three new IR Anywhere Kits have been designed to provide installers with all of the necessary infrared extended system components required to reliably control hidden audio/video components for a variety of applications.

“This year we have completely updated our infrared extender systems to provide even higher performance and reliability,” said Frank Sterns, president of Niles. “Niles‘ new Ingenious IR products are substantially immune to the interferences caused by LCD and plasma televisions, fluorescent lights, and operate in indirect sunlight; so custom installers can provide their customers with reliable control of remotely located audio/video components in virtually any environment,” Sterns added.

A Niles infrared extender system consists of three components: a sensor to receive infrared commands, a main system unit (MSU) to process/distribute infrared commands received by the sensor and a flasher to transmit infrared commands from the MSU to infrared-controlled audio/video components. Niles makes a variety of application-specific sensors, which include: miniature surface-mount, table-top, miniature flush-mount, wall mount and ceiling mount models. The Ingenious IR lineup includes six main system units (MSUs) for receiving commands from up to 24 sensors and processing/distributing those commands to up to four separate zones. There are five types of flashers in the lineup including: high-output, single and dual headed models with or without visual feedback for monitoring infrared command activity. All new models are now available and shipping to Niles dealers nationwide.

Talking Points:
• Niles‘ new Ingenious IR has reengineered sensor designs, and all new sensors have improved rejection of Plasma and now LCD TV interference
• The new sensors have improved operating range, i.e. better distance and wider angle of operation
• All old sensors will be discontinued and new sensors will take their place
• New sensors have different model numbers, stock numbers and new packaging, but prices remain the same as their older counterparts
• MSUs (main system units) and flashers have not changed in design, but their packaging will be updated to match the new sensors. They will continue to use existing model and stock numbers
• New sensors and old sensors are compatible in the same system, so a new sensor could be retrofitted into an older system and improve performance of that system with no other change
• The RCA kits have changed: RCA2 and RCA3 are being discontinued and replaced by three new kits:
o RCA-HT – MSRP $299.95 – for home theater applications, available with silver or black surface-mount sensor and has provisions for controlling a home theater receiver from a second zone
o RCA-SM – MSRP $249.95 – for use with flat panel televisions, available with silver or black surface-mount sensor and is ideal for concealing cable/satellite receivers from sight
o RCA-TT – MSRP $229.95 – is designed for controlling concealed components from an unobtrusive table-top sensor
o Niles Ingenious IR products are now shipping with a two-year limited warranty
