Biamp Systems’ AudiaFLEX Enables Stadiums To Sound On Top Of Their Game

AS AUSTRIA RAMPS UP FOR UEFA® EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS, BIAMP SYSTEMS‘ AudiaFLEX® ENABLES STADIUMS TO SOUND ON TOP OF THEIR GAME

Tivoli Neu Stadium and Woerthersee Stadium, both venues for 2008 competition to be co-hosted between Switzerland and Austria, receive sound upgrade by MOCOM Communications GmbH.

BEAVERTON, OREGON, November 13, 2007 — Biamp Systems today announced that two of Austria‘s host stadiums for the upcoming UEFA® European Championships have recently installed audio systems featuring Biamp‘s AudiaFLEX® components. Completed by Vienna‘s MOCOM Communications GmbH, the new upgrades elevate the venues to a level on par with some of the most advanced facilities in the game.

The success of these implementations illustrates the performance and versatility of Biamp‘s AudiaFLEX digital audio platform for commercial AV applications. The design and integration for Inssbruck‘s Tivoli Neu Stadium was an upgrade to existing hardware, while the system implemented for Klagenfurt‘s Woerthersee Stadium was built from scratch. Both projects were managed by MOCOM‘s Harald Steindl.

According to Steindl, BIAMP AudiaFLEX provides category-leading performance and system reliability coupled with versatility that allowed him to design systems to suit the unique requirements of each site. “AudiaFLEX consistently sounds great and that‘s the primary requirement for me and my customers,” Steindl remarked. “With such important events, it‘s also critical that the sound system be as reliable as possible or someone will lose business.”

Home to FC Wacker Tirol, Tivoli Neu Stadium in Innsbruck is a reconstruction of the 17,400-seat Tivoli Stadium to increase capacity to 30,000. Tivoli Neu is part of The Olympiaworld Innsbruck complex. This includes the renovated Olympic ice hall Olympiahalle, the new Tiroler Wasserkraft Arena ice hall, a sports center called Landessportcenter Tirol, and the stadium itself.

The 30,000-seat Woerthersee Stadium, home of FC Krnten, was designed by architect Albert Wimmer and is located in Klagenfurt. With an adjacent sports park, hotel, business facilities and shopping center, Woerthersee Stadium is planned for football but also designed to accommodate other events.

Both systems, though different designs, feature common product including speakers from Community and Tannoy with DSP distribution via fiber optic using Biamp AudiaFLEX with a unique cable supervision system to monitor the amplification system, cable up to the speaker, application like a stadium, and enclosed runways for the speaker cable. Featuring linked fiber optics and redundant fiber optic links, both systems are completely decentralized with remote amplification points.

Biamp AudiaFLEX provides unprecedented control and flexibility in design. Multi-Channel audio can be seamlessly distributed among multiple units via CobraNet® using economical Cat-5 cable. Each AudiaFLEX can provide up to 24 channels of I/O, or expand your options even further with new AudiaEXPI and AudiaEXPO. The new AEC-2HD card with proprietary TrueSound™ Algorithm offers the most advanced acoustic echo cancellation in the world. The new PA-2 card gives you the power of an amp in a card.
