Shure a Hit at the CMAs

NILES, IL, November 9, 2007 – Shure endorsers Rascal Flatts opened and closed the show for the 41st Annual Country Music Awards at the Sommet Center in Nashville, Tennesee. The trio, who won their fifth consecutive Vocal Group of the Year Award, opened the show performing the title track from their latest album, Still Feels Good using Shure UHF-R wireless with SM58 microphones. In addition, the group closed the show joined by Academy-Award winning actor Jamie Foxx, who also used UHF-R/58.

“Shure products were integral to the sound of the show, with 16 out of 21 performers who chose Shure as their lead vocal mics,” said Michael Davis, Production Mixer for the show. “The UHF-R wireless systems continue to lead the way with rock solid RF stability.”

Brad Paisley, another Shure endorser, won the Male Vocalist of the Year award, for the very first time after being previously nominated in that category seven times. He performed his song “Online,” which won the award for Music Video of the Year, with the Brentwood, Tenn. High School Marching Band using UHF-R wireless with an SM58 microphone.

“I can’t tell you what this means to me to win this,” said an emotional Paisley. “I always wanted to win this award at least once…this will do.”

Other Shure endorsers who performed throughout the evening included LeAnn Rimes (UR2/KSM9),
Little Big Town (UR2/SM58), Josh Turner (UR2/KSM9), Alison Krauss and Union Station (UR2/KSM9), Miranda Lambert (UR2/SM58) and Martina McBride (SM58 wired).

Carrie Underwood picked up right where she left off last year at the Country Music Association Awards by winning back-to-back trophies as Female Vocalist of the Year. The former “American Idol” star also won an award for Single of the Year, for “Before He Cheats,” which she performed using UHF-R wireless with an SM58 microphone.

Several other artists used Shure microphones for their performances, including Taylor Swift (UR2/Beta 54), Sugarland (SM58 wired), Big & Rich (UR2/SM58), Rodney Atkins (UR2/SM58), The Eagles (SM58 wired), and Keith Urban (UR2/KSM9)

The wireless systems were provided by ATK Audiotek, and Soundcheck Nashville also provided backline gear and some additional Shure wireless guitar systems.
