AMX Hires Software Industry Veteran to Lead Regional Sales Strategy for Central U.S.

RICHARDSON, Texas – Nov. 30, 2007 – AMX® announced today that Gary Schafer has joined the company as vice president of regional sales for the central United States. Schafer is a software industry veteran with more than 20 years of experience in sales and customer relationship management.

In his role at AMX, Schafer will be responsible for developing and executing the company‘s sales strategy in the central region, which stretches from the Rocky Mountains to the Mississippi River. This includes identifying and responding to key market trends and working closely with the AMX sales channel to meet and exceed projected revenue goals.

Schafer joins AMX from InterDyn Corporation, the leading global partner for Microsoft Business Solutions, where he was vice president of sales and marketing. While in this role, he lead the company‘s sales, marketing and business development efforts, which included setting corporate growth goals, and developing and implementing customer and client care strategies.

Prior to joining InterDyn, Schafer held a variety of positions at Microsoft Corporation. He was most recently general manager of U.S. inside sales, where he oversaw more than 100 employees and 150 vendor representatives, and managed key Microsoft Reseller relationships with Dell, CDW and many others. He was also previously general manager of Microsoft Business Solutions‘ Existing Customer Group. While in this role, he was responsible for driving sales and marketing activities, as well as overseeing the group‘s operations and overall customer relationship management.

During his tenure at Microsoft, Schafer received the highly-prestigious Microsoft Chairman‘s Award, the company‘s highest recognition for sales and business development excellence. Schafer also received the Microsoft Gold Star Award three years in a row.

Prior to joining Microsoft, Schafer held a variety of executive- and director-level positions at Great Plains Software, including vice president of existing customers, and director and general manager of customer management.

Schafer holds a masters degree in business management from the University of Mary and a bachelor of science degree in computer information systems from Valley State University.
