Electrosonic Provides AV Support For Bank Of America Big Cat Falls At The Philadelphia Zoo

bigcatElectrosonic teamed with Art Guild Inc. to engineer, fabricate and install the AV features of Bank of America Big Cat Falls, the award-winning attraction at The Philadelphia Zoo. The stunning landscape of lush habitats and waterfalls where guests come face to face with 12 endangered big cats from around the world was recently named Exhibit of the Year by The Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA). The award is presented for outstanding dedication to conservation issues and construction of exhibit space replicating species natural habitats.

The AV components of Big Cat Falls supported by Electrosonic include a pair of outdoor video projections in the Entry/Exit Pavilion; a number of interactive experiences created by Boston Productions in the various pavilions; and a triple High Definition theater experience with dramatic Surround sound and specialized lighting.

Electrosonic provided an ambient sound system, which manages sound levels automatically based on visitor load, so the animals will not be disturbed. A Crestron control system directs overall operation and system health. Electrosonic‘s engineers can remotely monitor the audio visual system as well as perform system maintenance.

Bank of America Big Cat Falls‘ 1.7-acre footprint features spacious outdoor exhibits for 19 big cats: an African savanna for lions, a Central American rainforest for jaguars, the Siberian forest for Amur tigers and leopards, and rocky Pennsylvania woodlands for pumas — with nearly 300 species of plants and trees highlighting the diverse climates of these big cat habitats.

Marina Chavez was project manager for Electrosonic New York with Bryan Abelowitz sales engineer. Todd Littleton is the vice president of Art Guild.

Electrosonic has a 40-year history of providing advanced media solutions for applications in Public Spaces and Work Environments at hundreds of sites worldwide.
