ELAN┬«‘s New OlÚ™XL Touchpad Now Shipping to Dealers

LEXINGTON, KY — ELAN┬« Home Systems, a leading manufacturer of award-winning Multi-Room audio/video and home control systems, announced today that OlÚ™XL, the newest addition to its revolutionary, award-winning OlÚ™ family of Film Interactive Touchpads, known as ”FIT”, began shipping today. The announcement was made by Bob Farinelli, ELAN‘s President and Chief Technology Officer.

The 2006 introduction of the world‘s first FIT, ELAN‘s OlÚ, ushered in a whole new era of customized control and changed the world of custom A/V with its innovative patent-pending combination of touch screen functionality, keypad-like simplicity, affordability, and never-before-seen level of customization. Now, with the addition of OlÚXL, there are two best-of-breed options from which homeowners can control all their entertainment throughout the house while matching their dÚcor and lifestyles.

OlÚXL offers a step-up, yet still affordable, option for personalized control of multi-room A/V systems and delivers the same extraordinary functionality and value as the original OlÚ — and then some. OlÚXL also features the same styles and colors of slide-in designer films and on-wall frames, but now offers even more customization of control and feedback through its larger 2.1” OLED display area and user-friendly 15-function layout. As a result, ELAN Dealers now have access to two highly unique and sophisticated yet affordable user interfaces that will suit more clients.

The larger display, with its six lines of metadata from 2-way sources, provides a more detailed view of “Now Playing” information from source components such as iPod┬« and XM™ Satellite Radio. Additional soft buttons, with icons or text, can be arranged right over the display area to provide more control options such as multiple source select pages, numeric keypad, DVD/DVR menu navigation and sub-system control.

“With the exciting addition of OlÚXL and the recent expansion of our award-winning line of VIA!┬« Touch Panels, ELAN now offers a multi-tiered selection of interfaces that are unmatched in the industry. Our solutions now span volume controls, keypads, touchpads, in-wall panels, and under-cabinet or tabletop panels, all the way up to the latest in WiFi wireless controls, which we believe puts the ELAN Dealers at a distinct advantage with their clients as there is truly something for everyone and every job,” stated Mr. Farinelli.

The world‘s first FIT, Oleé products bring together the speed, graphics, and response of an LCD touch panel, with the ease and pricing of a traditional keypad. A radical departure from hard button keypads, the Oleé family of products offers the largest all-touch surface in a double-gang, in-wall product and new a level of flexibility to match every Client‘s dÚcor. It‘s easier-than-ever installation and VIA!┬«TOOLS programming saves Dealers valuable time, thus increasing profits substantially.

In addition to the offerings mentioned, OlÚXL‘s stunning selection of thirty-six photographic quality, backlit slide-in films can be custom-matched to 7 different frame color options (White, Light Almond, Almond, Ivory, Brown, Black and a beautiful Satin Chrome finish), all of which are available in both Standard and European styling. These distinctive films match the existing OlÚ lineup and are offered in a variety of styles, themes and colors ranging from southwest to the mountains, beach and more. Designed to match virtually any personal taste, OlÚXL films also feature a simple, user-friendly button layout.

Since its introduction last year, the OlÚ family of Film Interactive Touchpads has received great critical acclaim and has been honored with numerous top industry awards including a 2006 Electronic House Product of the Year Award, Residential Systems‘ 2006 and 2007 Excite Awards, and 2006 EHX Multi-Room Audio/Video Award for Best User Interface as well as being named a Finalist for the Consumer Electronics Association‘s 2007 Mark of Excellence Awards.

OleéXL is available now at a MSRP of $580.00 complete with a two year limited warranty.
