Professional Sound For All Music Enthusiasts: Introducing The Pro Headphone Series From Se

LAS VEGAS — January 2008 — The new “Professional” headphone series from Sennheiser brings the same pro-grade audio that performers have trusted on-stage for years straight to consumers. The IE 6, IE 7 and IE 8 ear-canal headphones, which will be unveiled at CES in Las Vegas, offer the greatest reduction of ambient noise with unparalleled sound quality in the portable sector — an advantage for anyone who likes to listen to music with as much precision and detail as possible.
“This range benefits from our experience in the professional monitoring sector,” explains Eric Palonen, product manager for Sennheiser‘s consumer electronics division. “The IE ear-canal headphones are ideal for music fans who attach great importance to accurate sound reproduction.”

The concept behind the IE 6, IE 7 and IE 8 is also something special. The ear-canal headphones use dynamic transducers that cover the entire frequency range with one system- even tricky basslines and thunderous sound effects separate themselves clearly in the mix. This also eliminates the distortion that detracts from the integrity of the original source material, even at high sound pressure levels. Ear adapters in different sizes ensure the IE headphones fit your ear canal perfectly, are comfortable to wear, and effectively seal off ambient noise. Good isolation further enhances precise audio reproduction; the top-of-the-range IE 8 can reach up to 26 dB of noise blocking attenuation.

All the models in the IE range are especially remarkable because of their robust and functional design. The cables are strengthened with KevlarTM and the headphones are made from durable materials. Each headphone is also equipped with a transport case, small cleaning tool and a cable clip.

IE 6: For bass enthusiasts
The IE 6 offers deep, luscious bass for listeners of contemporary rock or pop music. With passive attenuation up to 20 dB and a frequency response of 10 to 18,000 Hz, the silver and black ear-canal headphones take this very accurate and defined sound right into your ear.

IE 7: The classic offering
With a frequency response of 10 to 19,000 Hz and attenuation up to 20 dB, the black IE 7 produces a more balanced, natural sound. Particular importance has been paid to achieving brilliant sound reproduction at the top end.

IE 8: For sound techies
With the top-of-the-range IE 8, you can completely customize the frequency response to your listening preferences. A low-profile dial on each earphone enables you to fine-tune the bass response on the IE 8. The frequency response ranges from 10 to 20,000 Hz, and passive attenuation can be up to 26 dB. At the same time, the large number of different ear adapters means the headphones fit the ear canal as comfortably as possible. Also within the transport case are some small replaceable pads with a drying agent to protect your earphones from any moisture that typically develops when moving through different rooms or even regions with varying humidity.

The IE 6 and IE 7 ear-canal headphones will hit stores in March 2008 and the IE 8 will follow in April 2008.
