Capitol Sales Company Hosts 13th Annual Dealer Education and Technology Showcase

ST. PAUL, Minn., Jan. 28, 2008–For the 13th year in a row, Capitol Sales Company will provide a two-day education conference for system integrators and electronic system contractors who support the consumer electronic and custom installation industry. The Dealer Education and Technology Showcase, which has seen attendee increases year-over-year, will feature more than 70 classes and 70-plus product manufacturers exhibiting their solutions.

The annual conference will be held May 5 and May 6 at the Sheraton Bloomington Hotel in Bloomington, Minn. With a 20-percent increase in classes from last year‘s event, more than 450 integrators and contractors are expected to attend from across the nation. At a cost of only $79 per person, attendees will receive more than 15 hours of education, leave with a series of handouts, and enjoy a complimentary breakfast and lunch each day. “We‘re pleased that our conference attracts a variety of attendees with differing technical skill levels,” said Curt Hayes, President and Chief Financial Officer of Capitol Sales Company. “We see owners, managers and installers in attendance, and they all have very different needs. They appreciate the variety of options we offer.”

Capitol Sales Company is committed to building credibility and enhancing the strength of the custom installation industry through this conference. “We do our part to help educate the overall industry,” said Hayes. “And, we provide so much more than a simple PowerPoint presentation on product features. Each class is application-based and our participants learn design, integration, installation and troubleshooting.”
Attendees receive handouts and knowledge that they can apply immediately following the conference. “Integrators and contractors also have the opportunity to learn more about product categories where they could expand their offerings such as central vacs, lighting control, commercial audio and video and IP cameras,” Hayes said.

Classes are from one and one-half to three hours long and range from introductory to advanced programming on a wide assortment of product categories including video, audio, telephone systems, commercial audio and video, and accessories such as remote controls, IR, and video processing and distribution. About 30 vendors will be teaching the courses along with Capitol Sales staff.

Technology Showcase: Highlight for Participants
The evening of May 5 is the popular Technology Showcase networking event for participants and a great way to learn what‘s new in the industry. It will feature 20 percent more vendors this year with 70 manufacturers providing live demonstrations throughout the evening. “Our customers can preview many products and technologies in a very short time to stay abreast of latest technology solutions for their customers and opportunities for their business,” explained Hayes.

Some networking event highlights include the Atlas Sound demonstration truck, which will be showcasing commercial loudspeakers and electronics; a low-light room that will feature Panasonic Projector Systems, Optoma and SIM2 front projectors plus Vutec screens; and several flat panel manufacturers displaying various models from Toshiba, Panasonic, Pioneer Industrial and Panasonic Professional Display.
