Harman Pro Group Entertains One Of Germany’s Most Popular Theme Parks With JBL Crown & BSS

AMSTERDAM, THE NETHERLANDS, 29 January, 2008 — Demonstrating its ability to provide diverse, custom-level audio solutions with readily available off-the-shelf audio components, the Harman Pro Group today showcased a ballroom installation featuring JBL Professional VRX and SRX loudspeakers, Crown XTi and CTs amplifiers and BSS Soundweb processing at the elite Hotel Port Royal in Hamburg.

A unique aspect of the design called for JBL SRX 712M stage monitor wedges to be installed in the floor. Complementing the 712M‘s are eight 718M subwoofers with 18-inch drivers that are versatile and can be configured as part of a large subwoofer array or, as at the Port Royal, in a smaller satellite subwoofer system. The main line array system is comprised of 12 JBL VRX932LA, 12-inch two-way loudspeakers. The VRX Series Constant Curvature Line Arrays are designed and built to the same high standards and uses the same advanced driver technology as the VerTec Line Array Series used the world over in large venue concert arenas. VRX delivers extraordinary power handling, clarity, flexibility and unique JBL sound in an attractive and easy to rig package and proved ideal for the design required at this theme hotel.

Powering the system are 16 Crown amplifiers. The 8 XTi amps feature built in DSP for EQ, Crossover and HiQnet control, this, combined with the 2 BSS Soundweb processing systems allows for easy configuration of input and output choices. Rounding out the power are a combination of Crown CTs3000, 1200 and 600 models.

Hotel Port Royal is a large hotel located within Heidepark, one of Germany‘s most popular theme park attractions. To add to their already diverse entertainment offerings, the hotel needed to upgrade the sound system in its main ballroom, which has a capacity of 1500. Audio Pro in Heilbronn designed and installed the Harman Pro System and was also responsible for several other successful AV integration projects in Heidepark including the recent installation of JBL AE Series, PD Series , SRX Series and Contractor Control loudspeakers with dbx ZonePro and Driverack processing, Crown Sc and CTs amplification and a Soundcraft GB Series mixer at the theme park‘s maritime world.

“With the increasing consumer market deployment of 5.1 and 7.1 sound in HD home theater, gaming and automotive systems, consumers — the customers of Hotel Port Royal — have come to expect great sound in hotel lobbies and ballrooms, health clubs, retail and other commercial environments. This presents an opportunity to suppliers of quality sound systems like the Harman Pro Group and a major threat to manufacturers of commodity components. We‘re pleased to support our integration partners with great sounding products and we are committed to supporting them as they continue to address the broadening market demand for better sound!” explained Mark Bailey, Harman Pro Group Applications Engineer.
