BCI Releases MCP1000 AVD Media Converter
BCI‘s MCP1000 AVD media converter product is a card frame or standalone box-based system designed to provide media-conversion capabilities for video and audio between copper and fiber-optic cabling which is similar to very common Ethernet Media Converters in existence today.
The MCP1000 platform is best paired (but not limited to) applications involving copper based Matrix switches. When used in conjunction with a matrix switch, the MCP1000 system provides an economical and “as needed” solution for extending the distance or reach of matrix switch signals without a reduction in bandwidth or at the high cost of fiber optic based switching. At the same time, the cabling infrastructure is simplified and is immune to electrical interference and ground loops. No user adjustments are necessary which provides a “plug ‘n play” installation. A small example of supported video, audio and data functions include:
Composite NTSC or PAL video
S-Video
RGBHV
HDSDI
SDI
DVI
Analog Stereo Audio
AES Digital Audio
RS-232, RS-422, RS-485 Data
