A virtual press conference from Sound & Video Contractor

Yamaha Dealers –“Summit by the Sea” Featured Presentations, Valentine‘s Day Events, and Entertainment by “Four Play”–

BUENA PARK, Calif.–Yamaha Commercial Audio Systems, Inc. (YCAS) held a two-day summit over Valentine‘s Day for a select group of commercial audio dealers at the Ritz-Carlton in Laguna Niguel, California. Dealers attended a full-day conference on February 13 and had a day of relaxation in a picturesque environment on the ocean in southern California on the following day.

The meeting opened with an introduction by Vice President/General Manager Larry Italia along with welcome remarks from Hogan Osawa, President of Yamaha Commercial Audio Systems, Inc. N.A. Special guests included executives from Yamaha Commercial Audio Systems Japan as well as representatives from NEXO France who all had an opportunity to meet with YCAS dealers over the two days.

Attendees were shown a light-hearted video presentation of the people ‘behind the scenes‘ as well as the company‘s plans for new directions and products to be introduced later this year. Presentations by sales, marketing and product managers served to re-affirm the company‘s commitment to its dealer base that their personal success is what is most important to the company. Following the meetings, break out sessions were held and dealers could select to attend either a small business session held by Clifford Schorer, prominent Entrepreneur in Residence and Adjunct Professor at Columbia University in New York or a technology session chaired by YCAS marketing manager, Marc Lopez.

“Once again, Yamaha sets the standard for the way a manufacturer treats their dealers,” states Scott Kalata, Director of Sales Services, Masque Sound. “With class, attention and some fun mixed in for good measure!”

Since the two-day summit took place over Valentine‘s Day, YCAS extended an invitation to dealers‘ to bring along their significant others giving attendees the opportunity to spend a romantic, free day courtesy of Yamaha Commercial Audio participating in an activity of their choice which included coastal fishing, golf, whale watching or relaxing treatments at the Ritz Carlton Spa.

Yamaha Execs and Dealers Enjoy a Round of Golf “We have held dealer meetings in the past for our key commercial audio dealers and find this an effective way to provide them with new product information, and an opportunity to become better acquainted with our staff and by sharing ideas with us and each other,” states Larry Italia. “Holding the ‘Summit by the Sea‘ provided our dealers and their significant others a chance to escape from their hectic schedules and enjoy Valentine‘s Day in one of the most beautiful settings in the country.”

Yamaha Execs and Four Play That evening, dealers and their guests were treated to a surprise concert featuring renowned jazz quartet “Four Play”. The audio production rig for the show included the new NEXO GEO S12 line array system and RS15 subs and two PM5D consoles linked together via an EtherSound network that shared Yamaha AD8HR pre-amps.

Four Play Performs “The Yamaha Commercial Audio Systems (YCAS) ‘Summit by the Sea‘ was a great opportunity for my Hi-Tech Audio business partner, Louis Adamo and I to personally see old friends and make new friends in the YCAS family,” states Ralph Tolson, partner, Hi-Tech Audio Systems, Inc. of South San Francisco, Calif. “The strong, supportive and clearly understood relationship YCAS has with its American and Canadian dealers is what distinguishes Yamaha from its competitors in the commercial audio market. This meeting provided the right environment to candidly learn about and discuss Yamaha’s position as a global company and YCAS‘ particular focus for the future. As a long-time dealer of Yamaha digital consoles, Hi-Tech Audio is proud to be a part of the Yamaha family and we are looking forward to continued success with Yamaha in the future.”
