South San Francisco, CA — SP Controls, Inc. has announced the availability of its popular Pixie control panels in a horizontal mounting format. These panels, designed for simple control of projectors or other AV equipment, are wall mounted and emulate the functions of handheld remotes. Each Pixie can provide between 2 and 6 buttons for device control; one Pixie can control two or more display devices.

Pixie devices are easy to assemble and set up, using a variety of button modules (key sets) which are placed on the Pixie circuit board and held in place with a bezel. The unit is field-programmed in minutes using IR-learning technology from the devices’ remotes. The entire assembly fits into a Leviton DecoraTM wall plate (not included) and mounts into a single-gang wall box. Several modules are provided with each Pixie unit for custom configuration of the device.

“The new horizontally mounted Pixie is identical to the regular Pixie except for the buttons, which have button legends written vertically — so they can be read when the unit is mounted sideways,â€? says Gary Arcudi, SP Controls’ Director of Marketing. “To order the new version, you simply request a regular Pixie but with vertically oriented key sets.â€?

Modules include Power (either a single button that toggles on/off or discrete buttons); Source (toggled via a single button or selected with individual buttons); Volume Up/Down buttons, and a blank panel to fill the space if volume control is not needed.
