JUANES PERFORMS FOR âPEACE WITHOUT BORDERSâ?
Historic Performances Highlight Shureâs UHF-R, KSM9, and Beta 58A
NILES, IL, April 10, 2008 â Thousands of Colombians and Venezuelans attended a free concert, âPeace Without Borders,â? on Sunday, March 16, on the border between the two countries. Colombiaâs own Juanes, a GRAMMY-winning artist and Shure endorser, organized the event to celebrate the end of the diplomatic crisis among Colombia, Venezuela, and Ecuador that was held at the Simon Bolivar Bridge, which connects Colombia and Ecuador.
âIt would have been much more practical and simple to do it in a city,â? said Juanes, âbut the border is a symbol of peace between all countriesâŚand this message is for everyone, all the countries in Latin America and the U.S. as well.â?
In addition to Juanes, the concert also featured Shure endorsers from Spain, Miguel Bose and Alejandro Sanz, Colombian singer Carlos Vives, and Dominican singer Juan Luis Guerra.
According to Juanes, all of the artists were very responsive when invited to perform at the event. âI think they all share my feelings,â? he said. âHow can we use our music to support thisâŚuse our art for something important?â?
All of the artists used Shure UHF-R Wireless Systems and PSMď 700 In-Ear Monitors for their performances. Juanes, Juan Luis Guerra, and Carlos Vives sang using KSM9 Microphones, while Alejandro Sanz and Miguel Bose chose a Beta 58Aď for their vocals.
