Shure Promotes “Peace Without Borders”

JUANES PERFORMS FOR ā€œPEACE WITHOUT BORDERSā€?
Historic Performances Highlight Shureā€™s UHF-R, KSM9, and Beta 58A

NILES, IL, April 10, 2008 ā€“ Thousands of Colombians and Venezuelans attended a free concert, ā€œPeace Without Borders,ā€? on Sunday, March 16, on the border between the two countries. Colombiaā€™s own Juanes, a GRAMMY-winning artist and Shure endorser, organized the event to celebrate the end of the diplomatic crisis among Colombia, Venezuela, and Ecuador that was held at the Simon Bolivar Bridge, which connects Colombia and Ecuador.

ā€œIt would have been much more practical and simple to do it in a city,ā€? said Juanes, ā€œbut the border is a symbol of peace between all countriesā€¦and this message is for everyone, all the countries in Latin America and the U.S. as well.ā€?

In addition to Juanes, the concert also featured Shure endorsers from Spain, Miguel Bose and Alejandro Sanz, Colombian singer Carlos Vives, and Dominican singer Juan Luis Guerra.

According to Juanes, all of the artists were very responsive when invited to perform at the event. ā€œI think they all share my feelings,ā€? he said. ā€œHow can we use our music to support thisā€¦use our art for something important?ā€?

All of the artists used Shure UHF-R Wireless Systems and PSMļƒ’ 700 In-Ear Monitors for their performances. Juanes, Juan Luis Guerra, and Carlos Vives sang using KSM9 Microphones, while Alejandro Sanz and Miguel Bose chose a Beta 58Aļƒ’ for their vocals.
