TV Magic Wins Cornerstone Church Contract

SAN DIEGO — April 23, 2008 — Broadcast systems integrator TV Magic today announced that it has been contracted by Cornerstone Church of San Diego, the largest church in National City, Calif., to provide system research and design services for a new HD production and presentation system, in-house audio, stage lighting, and A/V for classrooms. The installation will bring sophisticated media capabilities to Cornerstone’s new home, a nine-theater multiplex being remodeled to serve as a house of worship, and support the church’s cable broadcast and DVD ministry.

“We are passionate about reaching out within the urban context to make families the cornerstone of the community,? said Sergio De La Mora, senior pastor at Cornerstone. “Media plays an extremely important role in our mission and worship services, and TV Magic’s reputation for providing churches with forward-looking media solutions makes the company a good partner in designing production and A/V systems for our new facility.?

Cornerstone currently holds services in the “Supernatural Dome,? a giant white tent erected in the parking lot adjacent to its future home, the Sweetwater Movie Theatres. The church purchased the 28,500-square-foot entertainment facility and is renovating the building to incorporate a 1,500-seat sanctuary, a state-of-the-art performing arts center, and 19 ultramodern classrooms for a K-6 academy. The arcade next to the movie theater has already been converted into their corporate offices and Cornerstone Café, a coffee house that services their growing congregation as well as the surrounding community.

In addition to holding both English- and Spanish-language celebration services, the church hosts a weekly television broadcast that reaches more than 40,000 area residents and makes sermons available via podcasts on the Cornerstone Web site: www.turningthehearts.com. TV Magic has designed an HD production system that will support live production and recording of services in the sanctuary, as well as an audio system, stage lighting, and presentation system for large-screen display during worship. The system design supports image magnification, broadcast, and DVD production, with the flexibility to enable switching of multiple programs simultaneously for different audiences and productions.

“At every Cornerstone celebration service, our members find uplifting worship and powerful, life-changing messages,? said Leticia Ventura, creative director at Cornerstone Church. “The Cornerstone mission is to turn the hearts of youth and families, and our work with TV Magic will ensure that as we move into our new church home, we’ll have the technology and flexibility, now and in the future, to share these messages in a dynamic and engaging way.?

The installation at Cornerstone is scheduled to be complete in summer 2008.
