Panamax Offers Free Power Management Training DVD for A/V Professionals

PETALUMA, Calif. — April 24, 2008 — Panamax, a world-leading provider of AC power management solutions, today announced that it is offering a free in-depth power management training DVD to better educate Panamax dealers and other A/V professionals on AC power problems and their solutions. With easy-to-navigate menus, the DVD explores Panamax technologies and how they work, provides a comprehensive overview of the Panamax products that utilize these technologies, and offers selling tips on how to communicate the importance of these products to customers.

The training DVD provides a look at the history of Panamax and offers selling tips to help dealers and retailers convey the importance of power management to consumers, while also increasing their profit margins. Communication techniques, such as utilizing a noise sniffer demonstration to show the effects of AC noise to customers, and other practical tips, such as listing power management first on the invoice, are discussed.

For easy navigation, the DVD breaks Panamax technologies into individual sections: noise filtration, surge protection, battery backup, and system management. The noise filtration section explores the sources of AC noise and its effects. The section focuses on eliminating AC noise with Linear Filtration Technology (LiFT), isolated filtration banks, isolated transformers, and mechanical design.

For surge protection, the DVD offers a high-voltage demonstration to illustrate the effects of power surges on sensitive A/V equipment, and how technologies such as Protect or Disconnect™ circuitry, Automatic Voltage Monitoring, signal side protection, and Extreme Voltage Shutdown protect components and increase their longevity.

The battery backup and system management sections explore UPS technologies for brownouts and blackouts, 12V triggers for one-button operation, RS-232 connections and TCP/IP cards for remote access and email alerts, and in-wall solutions for remotely located devices such as displays and subwoofers.

The training DVD provides an in-depth look at the entire Panamax line and how these products integrate Panamax’s power management technologies to optimize component performance and increase longevity. When viewed on a computer, the DVD also allows viewers to access datasheets for these products.

“We are very excited to be offering our free training DVD to our dealers and other A/V professionals,” said Dave Keller, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Panamax and Furman. “Whether you are an installer or retail staff at an electronics store, it is up to you to provide the customer with the best-possible A/V experience and the information they need to protect their investment and ensure optimal performance. To that end, our training DVD is an invaluable tool. Not only does it broaden their knowledge of power management in general, but it helps them determine the best solution based on the application.”

The free training DVD will be available to Panamax dealers through their sales representatives on April 24. In the future, the training videos will also be available on Panamax’s Web site for viewing and downloading.
