TVOne’s CORIOflex System Expands with Eight Input HD/SD-SDI Switcher

ERLANGER, KY, May 7, 2008— The S2-108HD eight input SD/HD-SDI Switcher is the latest addition to TV One’s CORIOflex system. Capable of switching between eight separate inputs of SD-SDI or HD-SDI signals, this new unit addresses the constantly evolving needs of the Pro AV and Broadcast markets since it may be used standalone or added to a CORIOflex system. The unit is now shipping and will have a suggested retail price of $1695.

The S2-108HD provides eight inputs and two SD/HD-SDI outputs. The two SD/HD-SDI outputs on BNC’s will both output the selected input source simultaneously. The switcher has been primarily designed to work with the CORIOflex system. It may be paired with any of the C2-2000A series of switcher/scalers and down converters to provide additional SD/HD-SDI inputs via BNC connectors. Like all current S2 series, it connects to the C2-2000A series using an included OPTION interconnect cable and is fully integrated into the control system of the C2-2000A unit to create a Multi-Format Seamless Switcher.

The S2-108HD can also be used as a standalone routing switcher and is fully compliant to SMPTE 292M and 259M. Automatic reclocking and equalization of the incoming signal is employed by the unit for HD-SDI sources from distances of 200m and SD-SDI sources from distances up to 300m.

Each input selector button on the front panel has a small LED light to signify which input has been selected for the output. This light will remain steady and constant when a recognized and accepted signal is connected and will begin to flash if the signal is not acceptable or the signal is lost. The unit is controlled by the Front Panel push buttons, IR Remote Control or RS-232. The S2-108HD is housed in a desktop case and optional single or dual rackmount kits are available.
