Turning Technologies Transforms Student and Audience Response Technology With Highly Portable New ResponseCard® AnyWhere™

Turning Technologies LLC, the leader in the audience response industry, today announced the availability of ResponseCard® AnyWhere™, its newest and most versatile audience response system yet. An LCD screen-equipped handheld receiver for presenters that is approximately the size of a deck of cards, ResponseCard AnyWhere is the perfect solution for teachers, trainers or meeting moderators who need a highly portable, preparation-free polling solution that doesn’t require a projector or computer.

Unlike other systems in Turning Technologies’ TurningPoint® audience response line, ResponseCard AnyWhere does not require a projector or computer or even electrical outlets to operate—lowering the investment costs related to implementation of response technology and opening up the assessment and feedback benefits to nearly any educational and professional environment.

Dr Ray Beiersdorfer from Youngstown State University, an early beta tester commented, “ResponseCard AnyWhere eliminated a distraction of a projector system.” He continued, “I was able to ‘check in’ with the students often and saw a great reaction for the students to give honest answers.”

Karen Grimes, Columbiana County Career and Technical Center, summarized her experience with a ResponseCard AnyWhere system as “not intimidating like other new technology.”

This easy-to-use system allows for polling with the press of a button. A presenter or educator only needs to ask a question of the group and press one button on the ResponseCard AnyWhere receiver to open polling. Meeting attendees or students respond to the question via ResponseCard RF keypads selecting options A-J from the multiple choice options presented with the question. The handheld receiver tabulates and displays the results via the LCD screen as soon as the user closes polling.

“When I hear good things from my staff regarding new technology, I know my day will run a little more smoothly,” said Al Cervello, Principal at West Boulevard Elementary, Youngstown, OH.

ResponseCard AnyWhere’s simple user interface and mobility allows for new markets to implement immediate assessment and feedback opportunities—educators with
traditional classroom environments that don’t have the luxury of daily access to projectors and computers, shift supervisors conducting meetings on the floor, instructors or facilitators of meetings or lessons in-the-field, and any presenter faced with limited presentation preparation or unknown discussion possibilities.

“By including an LCD screen on each receiver, ResponseCard AnyWhere becomes not only more portable and more flexible than existing projector-based systems, but also more discreet,? said Mike Broderick, CEO of Turning Technologies LLC. “Consultants, for example, can carry a complete system with them to an out-of-town meeting, ready for private polling of executives during an investigatory session. Respondents can answer confidential questions while still in the meeting, without fear of peer pressure or influence. In many respects, ResponseCard AnyWhere is our most powerful response system yet.?

Responses to multiple questions and sessions can be wirelessly stored in each ResponseCard AnyWhere receiver. If desired, results can also be downloaded via a USB cable to a PC for reporting purposes using ResponseCard AnyWhere Desktop software.

Flexible Configuration
ResponseCard AnyWhere wireless receiver has a range of up to 400 foot using radio frequency technology. The compact, 4.5?L x 2.4?W x 0.875?H devices have six buttons and store up to 5,000 votes or 100 polls; two AAA batteries are sufficient to power a unit for more than 80 hours of operation—enough for over 21,000 15-second polls. What’s more, ResponseCard AnyWhere supports up to 250 ResponseCard RF keypads and offer 82 separate RF channels, enabling dozens of sessions to be conducted in close proximity without confusion.

Purchase or Rental
Users can configure their ResponseCard AnyWhere system to meet audiences from a half-dozen to 250 or budget requirement. ResponseCard AnyWhere is also available as a rental option, ideal for conference breakout sessions or short term use.
