JUANES HONORED FOR MUSICAL AND HUMANITARIAN ACHIEVEMENTS
AT 10th ANNUAL BILLBOARD LATIN MUSIC AWARDS

NILES, IL, May 14, 2008 – Colombian singer and Shure endorser Juanes won the Male Pop Album of the Year Award for “La Vida Es un Ratico“ at the 10th Annual Latin Billboards at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida. While it was undoubtedly an honor for him to win this award, perhaps more significant was that Juanes also received the Spirit of Hope Award for his humanitarian work, which he does through his Mi Sangre Foundation – an organization he created in 2005 to aid victims of land mines in Colombia.

The event, which was broadcast live by the Telemundo Network Group, relied on a full range of Shure wired and wireless microphones, and almost every artist who performed used Shure gear during the evening, including Juanes who performed his hit single “Gotas de Agua Dulce“ using a Shure UHF-R® wireless microphone system with a KSM9 handheld transmitter.

In addition to Juanes, long-time Shure user Juan Luis Guerra enjoyed another huge night as he added three Latin Billboard Awards to his growing list of accomplishments, including Artist of the Year, Producer of the Year, and Tropical Album of the Year for “Llave de me Corazon.� Guerra has become quite the collector recently, as he will add the three Billboard Awards to the one GRAMMY and five Latin GRAMMY Awards that he has already won this year. He also performed using the Shure UHF-Rwireless microphone system with a KSM9 microphone.
