CMS Providing AV Expertise to Spelman College
New York, NY, Thursday, May 22, 2008 – CMS Innovative Consultants announced today that it will be donating audiovisual design and consulting services to Spelman College in Atlanta, GA . CMS will be participating in conjunction with Lehman Brothers, which is supporting the college as part of its global strategy for philanthropy aimed at improving the opportunities in life for children and young adults.
Spelman is a private, independent, historically Black liberal arts college for women, founded in 1881. The 2007 edition of U.S. News & World Report ranks Spelman College among the top 75 “Best Liberal Arts Colleges — Undergraduate.”
Lehman Brothers has formed a groundbreaking corporate-academic partnership with Spelman to develop the Lehman Brothers Center for Global Finance and Economic Development at Spelman College. Lehman Brothers is committing $10 million over a five-year period to develop an interdisciplinary curriculum and courses, establish a new scholarship program and recruit new faculty. The partnership is intended to prepare Spelman students for the global marketplace and increase the number of women in the financial sector.
CMS will contribute its audiovisual expertise to develop a videoconference room in the Lehman Brothers Center, to be housed in Spelman’s Milligan Building. “We are pleased to be a part of this admirable academic endeavor,” said Christopher J. Maione, CMS principal in charge of the AV project team. “In addition, we are delighted to be working on this project alongside our esteemed client, Lehman Brothers.”
