Peavey® MediaMatrix® Boasts NION® Hardware & Software Upgrades at InfoComm

MediaMatrix NIONMediaMatrix by Peavey will release version 1.4.2 of its NWare™ software, as well as memory upgrades and new I/O hardware, for the NION® programmable digital audio processing node at InfoComm 2008.

NION NWare version 1.4.2 is fully compatible with the Windows® Vista® operating system and adds support for network time protocols that allow NION to sync with network time servers or an Internet-based atomic clock. In addition, NION nX, n6 and n3 nodes now ship with upgrades in flash memory up to 2 GB to enable additional storage of audio, project files and background music loops, plus enhanced efficiency for messaging, audio playback, recording and multi-tasking within the NION system.

MediaMatrix has also released the new NIO 4×4 card, which enables greater flexibility than ever for all NION processing nodes. Featuring a four-input to four-output architecture—with mic- and line-level jacks on the inputs and line-level jacks on the outputs—the NIO 4×4 card enables system installers to maximize the NION’s robust processing power to create streamlined systems based on a single NION node.

NION is built on an embedded Linux operating system architecture designed for stable, efficient and robust performance. Low-latency audio across all I/O ports, broad scalability and DSP-enhanced versatility make NION ideal for high-performance audio projects where a wide range of audio distribution and processing is required. NWare is a Windows-based interface that works with multiple NION nodes across an Ethernet network, as well as third-party control and SNMP management tools.

MediaMatrix® is a division of Peavey®, one of the largest manufacturers of professional audio equipment in the world. Peavey has earned more than 180 patents and produces more than 2,000 products, which are distributed throughout the United States and to 136 other countries.
