Stantron® Introduces Glide And Turn Rack For Professional A/V, Studio And Home Theater Applications At InfoComm 2008
Rack and equipment remains hidden when not in use; design simplifies cabling and connections in professional and consumer applications
MAYVILLE, WISCONSIN – May 28, 2008 – Stantron®, a division of Mayville Products Corporation, will introduce the Glide and Turn equipment rack for use in professional and consumer environments at this year’s InfoComm Expo (Las Vegas Convention Center, June 18-20, Booth C3487) The Stantron Glide and Turn rack, features all-steel construction and is ideal for professional A/V applications such as corporate board room presentations and education, studio applications, and home theater installations.
The Stantron Glide and Turn rack is an excellent choice for professional facilities and consumer applications where the user prefers to keep the rack hidden from view when not in use. The rack is designed to fit into a wall as part of the architectural design, or inside a closet, although it can be positioned virtually anywhere. The upper part of the rack slides out in a cantilevered manner, and can be rotated to reach the back of the rack where the bulk of the cabling and connections reside.
“There is a developing trend, particularly in home theater, where people are looking to keep their A/V equipment and infrastructure hidden from plain sight. Consumers are looking for least obtrusive components to put in their living room, said Richard Runnels, Sales Director for Stantron. “The face of the Glide and Turn rack is aesthetically pleasing. Typical design configurations will have it recessed into a wall. In that arrangement, the user can simply pull the rack from the wall, turn it and perform maintenance as required. This entire process is also useful in professional areas with limited space, like conference and board rooms where the rack can simply be stowed away in a closet if not built into the wall.
The robust, easy to use Glide and Turn Rack is competitively priced for home theaters and smaller corporate/educational facilities. Available in sizes from 10RU to 30RU, the Glide and Turn rack is available at different price points depending on the requested weight load capacity. All Glide and Turn racks can accommodate 19 rack-mountable equipment and can accommodate all of Stantron’s standard 19rack-mount shelves, accessories and filler panels.
Stantron will also be showing rack shelves and accessories specifically for the Glide and Turn rack: Clamped shelving, which holds rack-mountable video and audio components in place with upper and lower brackets, eliminating unsightly “rack-mount ears to affix the equipment; and a range of decorative filler panels, available in a variety of colors, styles and finishes to fill empty spaces in the front of the rack.
The Stantron Glide and Turn Rack can also accommodate PowerOptionsâ„¢ horizontal rack mounted power strips within the rack. PowerOptions power strips are available with a variety of options for plug styles, surge protection, circuit breakers. Users can also add Stantron rack-mountable cooling fans and flexible and/or magnetic lighting strips to the Glide and Turn rack.
