Furman to Offer AC Power Training Session at InfoComm 2008 in Las Vegas

PETALUMA, Calif. — May 29, 2008 — Furman, a world-leading provider of power management solutions, today announced that Christos Desalernos, domestic sales manager for Furman’s Pro Division, will conduct a training session at InfoComm 2008 in Las Vegas. The hour-long session, entitled “AC Power Management for Audio/Video Professionals,” will be held on Friday, June 20, at 10:30 a.m. in Training Room 3 (MT3) of the Las Vegas Convention Center. In his presentation, Desalernos will provide a comprehensive look at the challenges caused by AC power in modern A/V installations and their solutions.

Today’s A/V professionals face unprecedented challenges when it comes to AC power and its effect on sensitive digital equipment. With ground loops, hum bars, and damage from surges, comprehensive power management control and conditioning is no longer an option for the performance and protection of A/V components — it’s a necessity.

During the session, Desalernos will discuss AC noise reduction, transient voltage surge suppression, voltage regulation, power sequencing, and battery backup, and how the right power management technology can greatly improve the performance of A/V equipment.

The presentation will include a demonstration of Furman’s Linear Filtering Technology (LiFT), along with overvoltage and ground hum removal demonstrations. The session will be followed by a half-hour Q&A session.
