Adtec Digital Aids Broadcasters in the Digital Signage Market

NASHVILLE, TN — Adtec Digital provides reliable media solutions for broadcasters developing the video centric digital signage market. Adtec’s products feature broadcast quality audio and video playback, frame accurate multiple-screen synchronization and continuous seamless looping. Adtec’s media players are the standard for many broadcast, theme parks, retail, digital signage, and other display applications around the world. Adtec created the concept of the embedded digital media player even before DVD players were available.

The products that make up Adtec’s digital media solutions include the signEdje-HD, edje 4111 and the Soloist 4111. These products all feature MPEG 2 and AVC/H.264 HD and SD video file playback from internal solid state storage, hard drive or through IP stream decoding. The soon to be released Soloist-HD Pro will add ASI In and HDSDI out.

All Adtec products include a common built-in command interface and media scheduler for a variety of successful playback options. Video content is easily loaded, managed, and prompted for playback using the mediaControl software which runs on both Windows and Mac OSX operating systems. Broadcast quality video files can be programmed to play on a loop when the units receive power, triggered to play according to time, or activated from external control systems via the parallel or serial port. These features are especially handy in applications such as interactive information kiosks or in theme park shows. Synchronized playback is a standard on all models.

Regardless of source resolution, the products can scale video output resolution to match the target monitors’ resolution up to full 1080P high definition. Users can broadcast both SD and HD content within the same player.

Ron Johnson, VP of Sales and Marketing for Adtec, says, “The signEdje is the ideal solution for digital signage applications where the playing of high quality, high definition video is needed. Its advanced features make it suitable for a wide range of applications.”

For more than 23 years, Adtec has been designing, manufacturing, selling and supporting value oriented digital video solutions for the cable, broadcast and professional video markets worldwide.
