Gefen Delivers HDMI over One Fiber Cable Using Small Sender/Receiver Units for Streamlined Installations
InfoComm Booth C1740 — Gefen’s newest fiber-based extension solution uses a single fiber optic cable to transmit HDMI v1.3 video up to 500 meters in distance with support for deep colors and the entire scope of the expanded HDMI format. The system uses Omron’s fiber optic modules to enable a simple yet long-distance delivery of HDMI over one fiber optic cable.
High definition resolutions to 1080p full HD are supported at the longest distances, making this system well suited for digital signage applications. It supports deep colors with CEC controls for HDMI v1.3, enabling todayʼs most cutting-edge systems to be implemented with ease.
“We are really pleased with the market acceptance for our fiber optic technologies,” remarked Nigel Blakeway, Chief Operating Officer and Managing Director, Omron Electronic Components LLC. “The partnership with Gefen is a further confirmation of the fast innovation opportunities that are developing in the HDMI space. We are encouraged to continue our technology developments to support the future market needs in this arena.”
Gefen’s HDMI over Fiber Extender comes with a 6-foot HDMI cable, sender and receiver units and power supply to drive performance.
