GefenTV Scaler Pro Offers HQV Scaling to Optimize Home Theater Systems

InfoComm Booth C1740 — Offering three separate functions in a single-box solution, the GefenTV Home Theater Scaler Pro switches between four audio/video sources, converts component, composite or s-video inputs to the enhanced HDMI v1.3 format, and upscales all four sources to 1080p full HD before outputting to one HDMI display or projector.

All four video inputs (component, composite/s-video and two HDMI) offer supplemental audio inputs; component and composite/s-video in analog RCA stereo format and HDMI in digital TOSlink and S/PDIF audio formats. Whatever source is selected sends the audio embedded with the video in the HDMI format and mirrored in TOSlink and S/PDIF outputs.

Silicon Optix’s Realta chipset enables HQV scaling for the HDMI v1.3 format offering support for TrueHD and DTS Master Audio as well as the entire scope of HDMI v1.3 features. Full HDCP-compliance, up/down scaling in all hi-def formats and mirrored audio outputs combine to make this GefenTV Home Theater Scaler Pro an essential solution for home theater enthusiasts everywhere.

“No matter how technology progresses, the one thing that remains constant for enthusiasts is the desire for the best picture possible. We’re thrilled that Gefen has enhanced their new scaler with the amazing processing power of Realta HQV,” said Silicon Optix’s CEO and President, Jim Mannos.

The GefenTV Home Theater Scaler Pro is expected to ship in Q3 2008.
