AMD/MEDIAPOINTE ANNOUNCES AESOP EXTENDED DIGITAL STORAGE HARDWARE

NEWBURY PARK, Calif. – June 18, 2008 – Advanced Media Design (AMD), developer of the award-winning AV-over-IP collaboration technology MediaPOINTE®, today announced AESOP, a device designed to store digital video files for easy access. When the AESOP connects to MediaPOINTE’s DMR (Digital Media Recorder) 210e, users can upload files that can be searched, retrieved and viewed with just a few clicks via the network or its newly announced MediaPOINTE DVP200.

When space becomes limited for on-demand videos created on MediaPOINTE DMRs, AESOP adds one terabyte of content storage without compromising space on a network server. User access is controlled by the same web interface as the DMRs, so there is no need for additional network supervision.

“Sometimes you need an expanded library of video files that are saved and reviewed on-demand,? said Gareth Wade, vice president, sales and marketing. “Our new AESOP provides the extra storage by becoming an add-on to the DMR.?
Video files from any number of DMR210es can be added at any time; users simply connect the AESOP to one DMR210e and all files on each can be automatically FTP-uploaded. Up to one terabyte of content is then stored in one place, in an easily-recognizable file structure similar to Windows®.

“Some of our users simply want to load content from several DMRs into a centralized location for easy access,? added Wade. “With the AESOP we have answered this need. With one cost-effective solution, we now give users access to all of their recorded content through one easy access point.?
